As the description says, what do you reckon the chances are of them playing?
Radio 1 headliners?

They co-headlined the NME stage just a couple of years back so I'd be surprised if they did it again anyhow.

With the new album out I can see them being pretty highish on the bill - maybe second headliners on the NME stage if there is a much bigger (and better) band headlining, or 3rd from the top on the main stage. Whenever they released their first album I heard the NME shit themselves trying to turn them into the next big thing so no doubt they'll have the same sort of support for the upcoming album.

You really don't understand NME at all do you

I understand enough to know that they're desperate in trying to turn otherwise fairly mediocre bands (note: The Strokes, Kasabian and The Libertines) into superstars, so they'll grasp at anything and try to make a fuss over absolutely nothing just so long as they keep up appearances and retain some credibility amongst fashionista indie kids.

I dunno if loss of their drummer will effect them either have to see how that goes
and will help if James doesn't go AWOL this year as well!

As someone who was at their previous performance at the festival, I can safely say they will NOT play in a position that high again. The performance itself was amazing and emotional, however the crowd was probably smaller than any crowd that day (including opening bands). The front area was not even a quarter full as there was only a couple of rows of people at the front. However, the band were still so greatful bless em and loved every second of it. I'd say possible festival republic headline / sub or maybe mid NME. Main Stage would be too weird.
