my bad like joe i got it wrong on the whole thing they did at the end which lead me to believe they were being considered. i believeed if they were being considered then they should have every right, but turns out they werent, got it all wrong.People have a problem because you dont seem to understand what the award is or what it signifys.

Ok as a summary some people on here:
Seem to care so much bout Primal Scream that they have put themselves out there by suggesting them to win the Godlike Genius. Yet they haven't even realised they have won the award before.
Some others want PS to win the award twice without even considering that there are a hell of a lot of acts who deserve the Godlike Genius award probably more.
Fun.
All I want to add really is I reckon it's bout time PS were back on main stage at Reading. Although reckon they will do Latitude.
Second I doubt Dave Grohl will play Reading this year.. but will prob play there with the Foos as an exclusive next year.

I think we can all agree it's essentially a load of old pony. No Macca, no Bowie, no Dylan, no Zeppelin, no Jagger / Richards, no f**king idea frankly. They are all predominately nice indie guitar white boys designed to appeal to the middle classes. It's just soemthing used to promote whoever seems to be touring and nothing more.
Grohl fits in quite nicely in amongst that lot.

Since when was the Heavy Metal movement middle class? Or the Punk movement? or the post-punk? or the rave/madchester scene?
I'm pretty certain you're talking balls sir

The way people keep talking about this reward you'd think it actually matters or that the NME is important to music.

Saying the NME is still shit and should no be taken seriously. In fact all awards are a waste of time.

a bit off topic but related because its about the foos:
heard the teaser from the new album and tbh from the small clip it seems that the album is heavy rock (possibly even metal).
linky here
my kind of cup of tea
