I feel proud to have created such an epic topic. It's ranged from things like the discussion of Pulp's size and worthiness of a headline slot, to the creation of an all 90s festival, to a brief history of Britpop and Alternative Rock in the 2000s, to an internet hardman from Southampton who rolls with the SMTV cast dishing out threats, to discussion of Corrie.

It's all in here. B)

The little forum topic that could...

After last year's debacle in the NME tent, do you think Mumford and Sons are ready to get bumped up to headliner position?

I blooming hope not.

I like Pulp, I like Blur, I like Blink, I like MCR, I like The Strokes

Can I enter the debate??

Re- Blur being not being Avant garde during Britpop, have you listened to the actual albums or just heard the singles? The albums as a whole aren't massively experimental but to dismiss them as simple pop albums is daft, esp if you're then going to call the likes of the flaming lips Avant garde (I know you didnt)

I don't know if anyone's said this already because I have enough of a life not to read every post.
However if you check the rumours Pulp and The Strokes are both rumoured to play the Friday (at Leeds) so they can't both headline.
Highly doubt MCR will headline either tbh.

I'm unsure, they might even have someone playing in between them, but Pulp under Strokes is also logical, I was just replying to the original post which put forward Pulp as a possible headliner.

Pulp won't headline but there's no chance they'll play any lower than second. If both Pulp and The Strokes play i'd be amazed if Pulp don't play under The Strokes.
