As a few have already said you can be as alone as you want to be or not. It's the easiest place to get to chat to complete strangers sharing a common Glastonbury bond.

I'll be riding solo this year as well, nobody I know (including my parents) got tickets this year. I'd be a bit frightened of doing it if it wasn't such a friendly place.

Now back to business!  To the OP or anybody else who is wishing to go Glastonbury on their own I can categorically say it's the best thing I ever did.  I opted to go on my own and not with friends who i'd gone with the year before (they stayed in the campervan field and I wanted to camp properly inside the fence) and having been a member of this forum I decided to join up with people on here, even though I had never met or spoken to them before.  I stayed with the majority of single festival go-ers in Pennards (it is now known as Camp Triangle) and even though there was only a few of us then I met some amazing people who I can truly call dear friends.

Going solo to Glasto was life changing for me.  I am no longer solo because I meet up with good friends I have met on here.  We're a very friendly bunch!

This is the thread from last year:
