Remember the majority of festivals went on sale 3rd Dec this year, so they were all in competition. I enjoy hearing other festival goers discussing whether Biffy Clyro or Blink 182 will headline, while we wait with a knowing smile, knowing we can expect Springstein, Young, Wonder etc.

Still would rather know than be left waiting!

I went with my dad in 08 and spent most of the weekend alone (I was 16) and had a great time Obviously it isnt quite the same but its much better than not going!

I agree, even though I usually go with others I spend a good deal of the time alone (mostly due to musical differences) and it was great, meeting new people, not rushing round to meet people, if you go alone you have more freedom, you don't have to stick to a timetable (and it's not as if you could ever feel lonely at Glasto). But yeah, I second that a date for the ticket resales is all I'm hoping for at the moment

According to your sig you've been going since 2000 (when you were 6 - if you're now 16).  So at least you know your way around.  That should make things a lot easier.  You're never alone at Glasto, unless you want to be.  You'll probably find that you'll make friends on the journey down by bus or train so by the time you arrive you should have a mate or mates.
If that doesn't happen don't worry just make friends with your neighbours - offer to help them put up their tents and they'll do the same for you and offer to share a cup of tea/coffee or something stronger and you'll be away.
I don't think you even need to camp in one of the special E-fests areas to make friends though you've also got that to fall back on.

Just be careful what you wish for. I'm sure the early leak last year of the line-up caused it to be firmed up when there were still negotiations going on with other bands.

It's a game of poker between bands, GFL and promotors. Leaks don't help GFL get the best bands.

I don't know why, but I've had a feeling that there'll be some official announcement in early Jan.  Even if it's only a smaller stage or a few acts.  Something like the West Holts announcement last year perhaps.

And no, I don't have any insider info, just gut feeling.  Mind you, that could be the Christmas over-indulgence wreaking havoc.

It does feel like we've been left in suspense a bit longer this year, though I suppose last year was a bit of an exception to the rule of revealing the line-up early.
