some people have hugely over-active imaginations. Or just like spouting worthless bollocks.

Did I say that, or anything like it? Nope.

What I did say is that Windows introduced Weezer to millions of people who otherwise quite possibly wouldn't know of their existence.

Now grow up, please.

I wasn't being entirely serious chieftan - was a sarky reflection on sometimes how quickly everything here seems to get out of hand

If they do play, I hope they cover Teenage Dirtbag again. Was an unexpected treat at Leeds last year.

Would also give me the opportunity to bash any Teenage Dirtbag neigh-sayers with my practiced robust defence of the song, 'you might thing it's rubbish, but it's actually a brilliant song... etc'.

Aye, that was fantastic. Infact their whole set was amazing. Really hope they play Glasto.

I thought they were excellent at Reading, wasnt sure what to expect but was really impressed.

As an aside they had a big crowd but can't imagine too many of those watching would have ever seen a win95 promo disc. That may have helped them in their early years but unless you've got something else to offer it's not going to be getting them decent festival bookings fifteen years later..

TBH, I never rated Buddy Holly but thought the video was clever.  No idea of the Win95 tie in though.  It was Hash Pipe that hooked me in and I bought/loved the Green and Blue albums.

Never seen them live.  Would try to if they were at Glasto without a doubt.

It was a really good set. Only thing that could have enhanced it would have been if they'd played Keep Fishing. Possibly backed by an army of Muppets. Don't know if that's pratical for a 45min festival slot though.

I watched Buddy Holly dozens of times on that disc. Why don't you get music videos with your operating systems anymore?

They were outstanding at Leeds
I was a bit worried before they started that people were there to get a decent place for Paramore or Blink 192 and didnt care much for Weezer, and that'd it'd be a bit of a letdown show
But they became almost everyone's band of the weekend instantly, and the fact they did it at both sites is unreal!
And it's obvious that being on win95 helped them get noticed on a much wider scale, that amount of advertising could only really bring more attention to them. It's just a form of getting a big break before myspace and youtube  could be used to get your music out there.
But the fact they're brilliant is why they're still going and playing to massive crowds :)

They are playing Sonisphere on the 9th July. Would they play glasto too being that they are two weeks apart, is that too close to make return trips accross the atlantic and too long to wait inbetween gigs? (they apparently won't do their own tour over here because it's too expensive for tem to do it, so not much chance of a tour between the two dates.)

It would be lovely though. They should headline all three nights of the Park stage, Friday Pinkerton, Saturday Blue album, Sunday Greatest hits set.

I didn't see them at Leeds last year but I hear they were amazing, I saw Band of Horses instead because I'm not a HUGE fan of Weezer. I'm going to the Brixton date though because my friend wants me to go.

Also I think they could definitely headline the Other Stage, if you think of Leeds last year they played third down but so did Dizzee Rascal who subbed at Glasto last year, so they'd be more than capable of playing really high up the Pryamid/Other Stage, they're definitely bigger than Orbital/on parr with the Flips.

They were excellent at reading this year, so i'd be happy with them playing, high up on other or an afternoon slot on the pyramid

Gutted. It's on my birthday and I've never seen them before. Was just too perfect an opportunity to miss.

They are in Canada after Glasto and then in the UK/Ireland for T Oxegen etc after Canada so that would mean going back and forth across the Atlantic.  Wouln't hold out much hope of seeing them at Glasto but hope I'm wrong
