Counting down the landmark times eh?  Been there, done that!

Funnily enough my Birthday is 17/12 and the last couple of years I've seen that as a metaphorical halfway point where I feel like I'm over the hump and accelerating towards the next one.  The New Year's ("it's this year!"), balance paying off day ("not long now!") and then the line up announcements ("Oooo, I'll watch them/Give it a miss/hope it doesn't clash with X") and before you know it, you're counting the change from the jangle jar for beer tokens and practicing packing.

Be here before we know it.

If by 'not long' you are effectively wishing 7 months of your life away then yes you are right!  ;)

Having been snowbound at home for 3 days and not really being a Christmas or winter person, I'd happily wish away the next 3 months.

Looking at it like that does make it seem a bit shorter. Which means I roughly only have about 28 weeks left in the army as I plan to have my first week in civilian life at Glasto. Wow

Counted my £2.00 coins saved in my jangle jar since last summer's Glasto and have 100 already!!! With six month's saving up left to go I'll have plenty of beer money!!!

I thought I was the only saddo on the board that saved every £2 coin I can find for Glasto.  Everytime I get one I think of a half pint of cider from the Brothers Bar  B)

Texted my mate that exact message at midnight!

Re the £2 coins thing, I save pretty much all my spare change.  Counted it last week and had about £140 in 3 months, so on target for £400+.  Result.

nope! we do this as well, save them all up in a tin that can only be opened with tin opener - only pain is paying them into account, as the banks aren't too pleased at receiving all of them at once (not sure why, thought they were banks, that deal with money!??Posted Image)

yay to the £2 collectors club!!Posted Image
