Its offical Paolo Nutini is headlining: http://www.paolonuti...al-2011_424.htm
Thoughts?
Personally i'm slightly disappointed, mainly due to it not really being in my music taste.

At first I thought the guy on Facebook had made up a link... I seriously can't believe Paolo f**king Nutini is headlining any kind of stage at Rockness, never mind headlining the thing. What a joke...

Paulo Nutini is good. Personally I wudnt have him headline but I can kinda see why the orginisers picked him. Scottish, 2 good albums (possibly a 3rd by Rockness time). plus Pencil Full of Lead is a brilliant song after a few jars

Already posted today, Rockness is a business. It needs to make money and to do that they need to sell tickets.
He has a huge following, especially in the North from an older crowd which Jim will be trying to tap into.
He was never going to be a popular choice on here but neither was Kasabian due to the majority of Rockness goers on here are Electronic fans) nor on Facebook where the main demograph is Under 30.
Jim has booked him to sell tickets, which I believe he will. And if he does manage to sell more tickets, then the better the undercard will be overall - FACT.
He ain't my cup of tea, I will be watching something else but I bet you he has a huge mainstage crowd and a drunken sing-along. Won't be the biggest crowd of the weekend, but I bet it is still large!
And don't forget, there will be a huge electronic act in the Clash Tent at the same time to keep everyone else happy or acts on other stages.
If it falls on its arse and he doesn't sell tickets, then at least Jim has tried... just hope he is wearing a tin hat tonight and tomorrow
