- The amount of publicity surrounding Primal Scream (tour, Radio 6 promo etc)
- Fits into the legendary label that The IOW organisers are giving the act.
- If indeed the IOW and Rockness announcements are the same, Primal Scream would be more than able to respond to the challenges of playing in the big top and then the main stage of Rockness.

More of a question than a theme, it just seems to fit in:

I believe most people have thought Primal Scream will be playing from the hints dropped. I guess we'll see.

The only thing I would add is that since the festival has been a three day event there have been two dance headliners. Obviously this can change though.

Although they cross over between rock and dance, they are primarily not a dance act. Has Rockness gone with two non-dance act headliners before? Trying to cast my mind back.
EDIT: just seen rex's post.

I'm sure it could change, especially considering Primal Screams popularity and perhaps there aren't enough big dance acts that can headline this year. I'd rather they went for a strong rock headliner rather than a weak dance one.

Agreed. From what I've seen of the Screamadelica shows in Spain, it looks incredible. Two days and I'll find out for myself.....

emos, on 25 November 2010 - 10:44 AM, said:The way Gidding's talks about the act in the interview I'd say it was a solo act announced for IOW tomorrow. IOW have just twittered "we go to he union chapel to see elton tonight, but it's not him in the big top..." - Which also to me hints at a male solo act.More of a question than a theme, it just seems to fit in:
