I don't think they'll make mega-fest headline material, but I could be wrong.

Their album sales say they're going backwards with their appeal, so unless they're able to talk themselves up into being regarded as something they're not really (and they've been very successful with talking themselves up so far; they remind me very much of another band ;)) I can't see how a canny festie organiser would go for them outside of being desperate to find a headliner.

Really? I'd have thought West Ryder would have been their best selling album.

Personally like them and actually thought West Ryder was the strongest album as a whole so far aswell.

Don't envision them headlining or playing Glastonbury this year though.  Think if they are going to headline will depend on how next album does as 2013 is a long way away yet.

I'm surprised by you saying "I like their music (even if they are a bit crap live)" tho, cos the general opinion seems to be the opposite of that - that their albums are bit crap, but they're excellent live.
Ahh well horses for courses and all that :) Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of theirs, just not massively impressed with them live compared with other bands. I'd still see them if they did happen to play next year though

thought there were great in 07, but saw them in 09 and wasnt impressed, just seemed like one big long song, with the crowd "whoooo whooo"-ing now and then  <_<

Meh, I just find them very meh, with one or two songs I quite like. If they decide to tour properly next year it could all go a bit KoL and they over expose themselves, so they might just doing one or two headline shows to keep them up there.

It is all obviously opinions but I thought they were absolute pants in '09.  I was really looking forward to them too.
I didn't see them at Glastonbury that time but I've seen them on I think 4 other occasions, and despite my general dislike of them I've had to admit to them being one of the better live acts around.

I'm certainly not unique with that take on them either - it's something I've read or heard a huge number of times, that their albums aren't great (aside from perhaps the first) but they're worth seeing live.

Completely agree with you. In my eyes their no where near headline material but i'm guessing if the next album is popular with the masses and has 3 or 4 well known songs on it then people will start to see them as headliner material.

I don't think they'll ever deserve to go higher than second from top on Pyramid or headlining the Other stage.

They won't accept anything other than a headline slot and they won't get offered one for next year.

This annoys me, Kasabian should accept whatever placing on the line up they get offered, they got lucky by filling a void now there's no Oasis. I'm not saying they're not big enough to headline but I'd like to think if they were offered second top they wouldn't think it's below them.

Really hope Kasabian dont turn up next year, seen them far too many times and like the KOL they are truly festival whores, I guess they are making as much money as they can while they can, but enough is enough, I wish they would bugger off for a couple of years and come back with some new better material.
