why dont you think they should headline.
They are more loved than verve and they headlined (and I thoroughly enjoyed their set now I think about it)

I would rather they didnt play so our memories can remain untarnished, but if they did play it could quite easily be sensational. Or awful.
This reunion doesnt make mich sense to me though I must admit.
Blur was a bit different though wasn't it? Not only did they have a huge pool of hits to draw on but there was the personal side of it. I'm still convinced that Albarn's main motivation was healing friendships (even if the others had money on their mind) and that was a part of what made it so emotional

aye but it'd now be 16 years later, when they don't exactly have anything to prove, and are probably doing it for the money (Jarvis' solo career isn't exactly flourishing sales-wise)
and yeah... Pulp were never exactly HUGE (not upto the standards of Blur etc anyway) and only had one REAL hit (Common People, of course)
with Blur there was sing along after sing along with huge mass crowd participation, but with Pulp.. i don't know
i'd just find it weird if they headlined really. wouldn't seem right. when they broke up they weren't headline size (in 2002 at Reading/Leeds they were second, under The Strokes who literally had one album) so i don't see why they should be headlining now

Yeh I agree entirely. That blur gig was special on so many levels.
can I just take this opportunity to once again say to those who were at prodigy that night: "ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!"

This is the first time the full Pulp line up has played together since 1996, so many people (myself included) would never have got to see the original line up so I think this makes it pretty special.

I can easily imagine this to be a mass singalong. Probably not with the crowd size Blur had, but a singalong nonetheless. Yes they didn't headline Leeds in 2002, but things have changed haven't they? Strokes were huge back then, Pulp were on the wane. Now they have nostalgia on their side, and a rabid fanbase who haven't forgot them who would kill to see them potentially one last time, especially at the place that was so important to the band.
I'm biased mind...

Words cannot explain how EXCITED I was to hear this news about half an hour ago. I LOVE PULP. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE SAY THEY'LL PLAY GLASTONBURY!!!!
Surely it's looking very likely to happen? It all makes sense, and it would fit nicely around the dates they've announced....!!

Interesting, Blur, when they were together never really seemed that huge to me, when I think of going to see them, at various points during their career, I think I never saw them anywhere bigger than say Brixton academy (release of the 4th album or so)
So, yeah, bit of nostalgia, I can see them headlining, or, I think more realistically, second from top if the headliner is a really big name.

First time I saw the band was 1998 when they headlined T In The Park, I was 16 so never really got the chance to see them before that.

I was thinking Sunday as it tends to be the nostalgia slot and traditionally the biggest band normally headlines Saturday. Of course that's a bit different this year with U2 on Friday

If the facebook page and previous lineups are any indication, the crowd is going to be awful at Wireless. I wonder why they are playing Wireless, of all festivals. It is definitely not the sort of headliner they usually get (Pink, anyone?).
