Hi all,

Thought I'd post this link to an article I saw in musicweek. Larmer Tree is a fine festival although I've not been for a few years now.

I guess this might mean a number of potential things for Summer Sundae 2011:-

(1) Acts booked to play Larmer Tree might also play Summer Sundae - economies of scale and all that. Getting an act from abroad to play a set of festival dates surely makes more economic sense?

(2) Rob's seen the writing on the wall and suspects that Summer Sundae might not happen next year (or might happen in a format that he doesn't want to be part of?)... the last Mercury press story about the City Council potentially moving things to Abbey Park and effectively changing the event had worrying tones.

(3) No change - that this development is completely independent and seperate from anything that might be being discussed for the Big Session and Summer Sundae...

There doesn't seem to have been any follow-up to that Abbey Park story, with time getting on and no official word since this year's event - that, after the DMH/Richard H issues, was officially confirmed towards the end of November 2009, and that was quite late by all accounts.

As for (1), I think acts from abroad stopping over is happening anyway - Caribou played nothing but European festivals from Field Day at the end of July to End Of The Road in the second weekend of September.
