So it seems that the Pyramid side of things is starting to take shape, based on reading the forums today it looks like...
Friday - U2
Saturday - Rolling Stones or Coldplay as reserve? with Beyonce on before.
Sunday - Prince
You'd have to say it fits with what ME said recently, three of the biggest acts in the world, Sunday is an American artist. Removing the relevance / past their prime etc etc etc arguments.
You'd also have to say these acts are unlikely to be repeated at all of the usual festival suspects around the UK either so pretty unique.
Also expect to see Stones or Prince or both at the Hard Rock Calling shows in Hyde Park (possibly not the Stones on reflection, can't decide on that).
So, shoot me down and debate.
Not a thread about the merits of the acts but the accuracy.

I would have thought they'd have The Stones on the Sunday on account of them being a more accessible act with the bigger hits. Then again, i suppose it depends on availability.

Sure, I would agree, the reason I put it the other way was because of how the rumours list has Coldplay for Saturday and because Sunday has been rumoured by ME to be American (and solo or did I imagine that bit?)

Well U2 and Rolling Stones I would say are the easily the two biggest groups in the world. No other bands can tour as many countries and fill as many stadiums as these two. If we are talking third biggest (ME didn't say the 3 best he said the 3 biggest) then I'd say Coldplay. They can fill Stadiums all over the world as well, can't think of any other currnently together acts who can do this.

AC/DC are far bigger than Coldplay. Huge. Mahusive. Probably don't fit into Glasto plans, and Glasto wouldn't fit into their plans, but they are easily bigger than Coldplay.

ac/dc are massive but they come with a massive stage show and the pyramid is not big enough for the train

At Download they had their OWN stage. Kind of defeats the point of them performing on the Pyramid if they want to do that sort of thing

Aye , but they are one of the few huge bands , that could play a tiny pub , in fact they use less equipment than some pub bands.

I'd say this is just yet another thread saying the same as plenty of other threads already started?

I'd say that right now Muse and Kings of Leon are probably bigger than Coldplay. Arcade Fire could probably rival on current popularity. Coldplay haven't released for a while.

Don't know where you've got Stones from? Stones have effectively been ruled out, due to them not making touring decisions untill December.
