Howdi All,

I am in a bit of a dilemma and can't decide whether or not my girlfriend and I should go to Glastonbury in 2011 (We already have tickets BTW) or save the money and put it towards a 2/3 week holiday in the Sun e.g. Egypt, Thailand etc.

Taking into account it will probably cost c.£1000 for the both of us over the 5 days at Glasto and the fact that my Mrs is not massively into festivals I am swaying towards the holiday...but in the back of my mind I know I will be gutted to miss it and thoroughly enjoyed it last year (first time for me) and that 'butterfly' feeling a couple of weeks prior to it kicking off.

We are also getting married later this year, so will be having a honeymoon in early 2011, therefore will have already had a decent relaxing holiday in the sun, which is then swinging me back to going to Glasto later in the summer!!

I know last year was like being on holiday as the weather was fricking sweet!! but obviously this cant be guaranteed for 2011.

Its giving me such a head-ache!!

Has anyone else ever had this decision to make and was it the right decision for you?

Thoughts on a postcard please...

Try for the best of both worlds approach. Go to Glastonbury on your own and then take the missus on a weeks holiday to a destination of her choosing :D

I'm doing both, planning a week in the sun relaxing straight after Glasto to recover!

No brainer.

You don't need two fancy holidays.

Go to Glastonbury.

In terms of value for money, Glasto is immmense.

That swayed me to get tickets this year... and we are going to try and be economical at Glasto to try and get a week away in September.

For totally selfish reasons I really think you should go on holiday because then there would be 2 more tickets in the resale and more chance of me getting one  :o

AM I A BAD PERSON FOR THINKING LIKE THIS ??

Not a bad person at all.

Dave - take your partner on holiday (making her happy), I'll pick up your two tickets in the resale (making my wife ecstatic).

Only in my wildest fantasies have I been able to satisfy two women so thoroughly at the same time.

You're already gunna be going on a nice holiday for your honeymoon, so I say go to Glasto and then go on the other holiday in 2012. Plus you already seem to be swaying more towards Glasto as well.

Quite shockingly I'm missing Glasto for a holiday abroad! The opportunity has come up to go to New York on the cheap so gone for that this time as I've never been to the US and wanted to go NY for years.

I went on hols straight after the resales and spent most of the time sulking 'cos we don't have tickets.
I know that's a spoilt attitude, but I couldn't help it.

A sunny Glastonbury is the best holiday you'll ever have.
