I saw the Chillis off the back of the Blood Sugar Sex Magic album and the much underrated One Hot Minute (a far better album than their last three IMO) and they were excellent. Saw them at Reading in 2007 and they really were as dull as dishwater and looked like they just couldn't be arsed and then Kiedis just pissed off and left them to finish the last 20 minutes of the set without him!

Saying that there is still always a chance they may headline. The rumoured U2/ Radiohead/ Coldplay combo are all bands whose best days are somewhat behind them so it certainly isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

Seen them twice, they've been gash twice.

Annoying thing is chillis have some great songs like blood sugar sex magik and areoplane, but instead they peddle all of stadium arcadium, a double album with what, five good tracks?

Hopefully they'll call it quits after this album and stop robbing people of their money. Plus anthony keidis' c**tish antics with faith no more and mike patton over the years (As in using chillis headlining clout to get faith no more and mr bungle kicked off tours, real rock and roll that is)resembled a baby spitting its dummy out.

They've not been relevant for over ten years, so no thanks.

They haven't released a good album in years :'( I'd argue that they only really have two good albums (BSSM and Californication). Soul To Squeeze will always be one of the best songs of the 90s in my eyes.

The Chili's kicked out a stunning gig at wembley arena when they were touring One Hot Minute (as mentioned before a bloody well underrated album) with Dave Navarro on guitar and did a decent job of it when releasing Californication.

Sadly then it all went to shit with their durge of release starting wiht by the way.

The Chili's always did do best with their mix of punk/funk but lost their way badly with their loast few albums.

As above I witnessed the death throws of the band at reading in 2007 with kiedis just walking off in a huff leaving hte rest of the band to fend for themselves.

If it were up to me I'd tell em to not bother with another album with the damage already done with their last 3

I listened to it extensively. Apart from being rubbish, I didn't find it political at all aside from premeditated "The MAN is bad. We're so punk"

Love this band and have been a huge fan for nearly 20years starting with mothers milk and saw their first ever headline performance at Reading and on every tour since and I have seen some amazing sets, the first year John was back after one hot minute when they played pretty much all of Blood Sugar including Sir Psycho sexy and soul to squeeze possibly my favourite song of all time. I have also seen some of their worst performances, the last time they played Reading which was horrendous but not entirely their fault it was most definitely a sound issue. If these guys played Glastonbury I would most definitely be there but would be slightly worried they wouldn't pull it off, disloyal or what!

Nothing wrong with that, it just seemed bizarre that what was once such a great raw punk-grunge band would become so MOR and add keys and percussion like they were playing for Eric Clapton or something like that.
