Now that it's got to be paid between 1-7the april, instead of just by a set date?

No need to worry, no doubt there'll be reminder emails nearer the time (probably a month or so in advance to remind everyone to save their wages).
It should work fine, it's a whole week for sales which is 42-fold the time it took to sell out. As long as people don't leave it til 11.30pm on the 7th I doubt there'll be any problems. All in all, I think it's a great idea.

Really why? Surely it was better saying pay it by xxxx than just over a seven day period?

The only problem I can foresee is if someone has their holiday booked for 1st to the 7th, other than that it's no major disadvantage to customers and there's probably a reason for why they want it like that. Giving people a week is plenty enough time, and nothing to complain about.

No because most people always left it to the last minute to pay and they are obviously hoping that by announcing a 7 day final payment window they won't get everyone trying to access the payment system at the same time.

Not complaining just was worried that seetickets website wouldn't be unable to handle the strain that week causing people to miss out.

For starters, the only people who will be going on the site to pay are people with tickets reserved, not every man and his dog in a mad scramble like on Sunday. There may be a bit of a strain first thing on the 1st, but chances are not that many people will be trying to pay as soon as it opens, most will probably hold off for sometime in the middle. With people entirely free to buy their ticket at any time in that 168 hour period there's not going to be a rush time. Not complaining just was worried that seetickets website wouldn't be unable to handle the strain that week causing people to miss out.
