What makes a band Glasto worthy?

As per the title, why are some bands more suited to headline Glastonbury than others? I have been watching all the threads and I notice that when Take That (for instance) are mentioned to be a possible headliner there are a few who say they are not really a Glastonbury headliner act.
2011 is my first Glasto for me so was just wondering this!

I think it's just a bit of music snobbery coming out there to be honest from people who would rather an artist / group that say, play their own instruments or have a 'legendry' status headlined.
Take that are certainly big enough to headline in my opinion with a huge back catalogue of well known songs. I'm sure they would go down a storm with all that went along.
Personally though, I'd rather cut off my own ears.

I suggested on another thread that no member of the band should have been on Strictly Come Dancing, either as a contestant or guest performer. Ampersand then expanded that to include the X-Factor.

To be fair I'd probably expand even further to include any reality tv show at all.
