How do I sign up? I have a lot of questions actually.
I am new to this whole "friends" thing (doesn't that sound sad) and don't really get how it works. Someone added me as a friend for the first time yesterday (I mean jeez, I've only been on here a year and three months now) and I really have no idea how to reciprocate. I've tried mucking about with it and really don't get it. Just can't work out how to reply to their message, add them as friend, etc. Probably being a dullard here and may try again later.
And, what's the ettiquette? Should you have an "invite" first? Do some people find it intrusive if you request their friendship? Same with PMs. Isn't that a bit, you know, personal like. I worry about the overly familiar aspect.
As for ticket buying:
Is there a list of people who can be trusted with credit card details? If not, can we start one? You can trust me with your wallet and bank details but you only have my word for that. I was thinking of setting up an account just for the purpose of this one transaction, thinking that way the most I could lose to a scammer would be £50, but it then occured to me that they could run up a big overdraft with just my card details. Do I need to give my online card check password thing as well?
I am up for trying for tickets for absolutely anyone once I get this social networking thing, but obviously wont be able to do hundreds. Ideas as to how to go about this without being inundated with PMs would be much appreciated. I thought yesterday would be a case of coming on here, saying I was in, and dealing with things within the time window via the boards, or vice versa with someone else who'd got in, but obviously that didn't happen. I guess everyone was off doing this on Facebook this year. I also thought the old cutting and pasting of previous succesful links would work as well.
I work abroad away from a PC for days at a time and may not be available on resale day. I also don't do Facebook. I don't want to get drawn in, I'm addicted enough to this site and too many people at work have got into trouble over stuff posted on it.
Any help and ideas appreciated. Thanks in advance. My +1 button has reached its quota today.

Definitely going to pm those who are willing to help.
I am so desperate to get tickets for 2011, after spending all morning trying to get tickets(and waiting in that "queue" for the most part) I am pretty gutted.
This is such a great idea, I am optimistic that they will be selling some sneakily, very soon, much like last year.

Mr Zigster - don't give out your bank details to someone on an internet forum. I know you're desparate for tickets but it's not worth the risk of being robbed.

Hi guys this a great idea!! It was suppose to be my first Glastonbury and I was one of the unlucky ones after 4 hours waiting in this supposed 'queue' I was extremely gutted ESP as all my friends have theirs and the thought of waiting until April was just horrendous! but after reading about these mini resales I feel much more positive! I've PM'd a few on here. I will aLso do my bit and monitor the see tickets site at every spare second I have and If I can be of any help I will be!
on another note (and Jumping the gun a bit!!) I thought you could only pay via debit card not credit card. Just a little
point I want to clear up with my friend

Seconded. This list should be notification only. I would not recommend banding bank account numbers and sort codes around.

Cheers mate - very helpful of you. PM either me or Mike46 with your email addr.
Note as well that Neil has helpfully mentioned here:

... that he's monitoring the See landing page for deposits for any changes (i.e. if it suddenly goes live) and will update the forum(?) with that information.

I spent all Sunday morning while on Holiday in Italy trying to get tickets. I got into the queue once and then after refreshing ok a few times, it booted me out. What a nightmare. I only know of two people who managed to get tickets and about 10 who didn't. Why was it so much busier this year? I remember it taking a while the last couple of years but I always got through and once I was in the queue last year, that was it, I got them. Desperate to go this year as I think we'll be retiring from festivals for a while after it and I don't really want to commit to going to the Isle of Wight Fest this year yet but I reckon it's my best other option.
People can PM me with their email and I'll add them to my list.

also in the past if people know on here that someone has cancelled they phone see and say we know xyz has cancelled two tickets id like to buy them please. worth a shot i guess, just depends on what ticket seller you get

Well obviously, I'm not that duh. But from some of the posts on here it has been going on.
That's why I asked if there could be a list of known trustables.
I would certainly hope I could trust some of the people I met at the cider bus meet or the football this year (hint hint). I will reciprocate. Anyone remember me? I was the guy with the bad teeth and the Calvados from a Lucozade bottle. Perhaps that's why I've had no offers.
After all, plenty of people on here are surely de facto trustable as they all seem to know each other and have even put up pictures of themselves and are surely easily traceable. Or am I being incredably naive here?
As for myself, I hope my work email address would convince people that I am easily nabbable should I be naughty with their bank details.
I am seriously going to look into the "account for just this transaction" thing.
Seriously kicking myself for not sorting this out for yesterday. I wasn't expecting such a shambles. No one else round here does Glasto & the peeps I usually go with are going to America instead this year (losers) though they tried for me all day yesterday as well. Just me and a computer here. Trying on the phone seems utterly pointless by all accounts.
Really narked off that it appears people were offering there connected connections on Facebook rather than on here. I'd have been straight on here me.

Yes, there does appear to have been a sort of 'digital divide' between those with 60 ticket wanting 'friends' on facebook, and those 'traditionalists' who stuck with eFests and updating info on here. Don't begrudge anyone their tickets, but astonished over the extent social networking sites have now come to dominate the process. Still wont convince me to join however - I know what facebook does with people 'personal' data . . .

I'm pretty sure I f people could get on here they would've helped but it wasn't the easiest getting on here.
Good luck to all you guys trying to get tickets. I'm sure you'll all get sorted.

Of course you should never give out your bank details to people on an internet forum - it is madness! yet strangely - so far it seems to have gone rather well!
It is only a matter of time before people with no scruples start joining forums like this and rip someone off though! it is too easy. People off here have given me their details in the past and obviously it has been fine, but I would say that wouldn't I? I could even give you their names, but again, they could just be my stooges and say how great I was.
Maybe just maybe you can search right back through the years of people's postings, form an opinion, and take a calculated risk, but I have to say, I would never do it. I have let other people do it, and sat in front of the screen and put their details in for a ticket, but I am always amazed that people do it! For intelligent people - it is insane!
