Stop it all of you.
I'm getting way too jittery now.  :(
I've barred myself from this thread.  :D

ps. Would love to see U2 again. First saw them at Manchester Polytechnic in 1980. They were class then.

I doubt it mate. It might increase demand next year for other festivals. We will be OK, I hope!

Definitely. I think that for a few of my mates, as we approach 40, it'll probably be the last one for several of them something different in 2012 and it'll break the habit a bit, can't see them returning.

I just arrived at 40 this year and had told the missus that 2010 was my last for a while. But now i've changed plans and am going to 2011, but have promised her that I will absolutely positively take 2012 off...

After seeing some amazing U2 shows on this tour, I'm really excited about the possibility of seeing them at Glasto next year..I really don't think getting tickets will be any more difficult than usual.

Really, really don't think it'll make a significant impact on the type of crowd at the festival.

The alleged group of fans who'd buy a ticket to turn up on Friday morning, and leave straight after they played simply won't exist in any noticeable numbers - for pretty much the same or less money anyone who'd do that could buy flights to Europe, a Hotel Room, and a Gig Ticket and watch a gig somewhere they actually want to be. And as a bonus they'd still be able to watch the Glastonbury performance on the Telly.

The only U2 fans who will be affected by this (pretty much) announcement are the ones who were already Glastonbury inclined and wanting to get the full festival experience - It'll probably make the decision easier for some undecideds, but that's about it.

Yeah, I never noticed a difference a couple of years ago when Springsteen played, people said it would. We'll be fine.
