At least its only been posted after registration has closed and to be honest, I really don't think there are alot of U2 fans bothering with Glastonbury. We'd be going anyway with or without U2, but the majority of fans I know who travel to shows are looking more towards going to the Mexican and South American shows (dates are rumoured to be announced pretty soon for the latter). I can see ONE recent thread on the subscribers side of U2.com regarding Glastonbury and that only has 6 replies and 3 of them are from me! Ha!
I really don't think 1000's of fans who weren't otherwise going will be trying for tickets come Sunday morning - resales in April/May might be a different matter though

HAHAHA I hope that pun was on purpose
Anyway we will all just have to wait until Sunday Bloody Sunday to get tickets.

I'm in no way a huge U2 fan at all, but I wouldn't mind seeing them play, as much as I dislike Sir Bono. As long as I don't miss out on a ticket from a diehard U2 fan who is planning on arriving for U2 and then leaving, there'll be no complaining from me.

Yep, that was BAD
I'm going to stop now before I turn into a freaky fan who can write a whole message in song titles which is just so very very wrong!

Let's be honest, most people have known this was on for the Friday...Sat would have been to near to gig on Sunday and all the quotes and very low odds on betting sites..Surely Neil has always known this, but thankfully chose not to spoil the party? Whatever you think of them, it's a f**king huge booking for Glastonbury...I'll be there..

Watched Mastermind on TV tonight. There was a contestsnt who said he was a vicar but he appeared looking like a prat wearing a bandana and answering questions on U2 as his specialist subject. He did pretty badly and came third. Let's hope he's as successful on Sunday.

I'm (sadly) going to look for it online now to see how many I get right!
Oh the exciting life I lead! LOL

I got my ticket last year in the re-sale. At that stage U2 were still due to headline. They were hardly being snapped up by rabid U2 fans then so why now?
Having said that, I would bloody love it if U2 do play (less so if I don't get a ticket).

oh come on chill
granted they are one of the biggest bands in the world so shouldn't necessarily "need" to say stuff like this but come on can you blame a band for a bit of promotion?!
the likelihood is they don't even run the website / didn't write it so is it really their fought.
I always find it amazing that Microsoft or Windows feel the need to advertise (on TV!) for let's be honest a smaller market but you still need to do it.
I for one hope they are there and play because, whilst I might not want to pay £40+ for a ticket on their tour, would still love to see them and I'd hope all the U2 haters could accept that.
With regards to T-Day, is it really going to be that much harder than the years before the registration? AND why should it matter if a lot of U2 fans do buy tickets? I'm sure they like more varied music than just U2, as we all know Glastonbury pretty much caters for everyone's tastes.
