After a bit of a browse, roskilde seems like the festival I want to go to abroad, probably not 2011, but when Glastonbury has its fallow 2012 year
Can anyone fill me in about the festival at all please
just wondering:
- How hot/cold is it
- How are the Danes
- How are the crowds - lively?
- Is there a lot of other activities e.g. what to do after hours
- Is it easy to get to

Any good past experiences of the festival please share!

Went during Glasto's last fallow year and, tbh, wouldn't bother to go again.
There's a good variety of bands, but nothing else to recommend it.
Oh, the loos are pretty good. Unfortunately the Danes seem to love to go against a fence as first choice, so by the start of the festival propper the whole site stinks of piss.

Roskilde seems to be my choice for Plan B since I didn't get Glasto tickets yesterday.

Yeah, I have been thinking this. I want to get something sorted sooner rather than later so may sack the resale unless I somehow get a ticket in the next 2 months.

Also considering Sziget and Benicasim. For me, the only problem is the costs  I'm on a bit of a budget next year so the travel costs almost rule out the thoughts of a non-UK festival :o/

well last year did alot of research and spent a bit of time on the roskilde official forum and it seems to be like a european glastonbury and the reports suggest that aswel.

but in the end I went for rock werchter due to cost of beer, flights etc etc.

Sziget is pretty good, more laid back than Roskilde and cheaper but also longer.
