ok...so other threads have prety much agreed that Internet is the best way to go...but has anyone got any tips or techniques that they wish to share on the best way to beat the crush and secure your ticket?

We didn't go last year so I'm interested to know if the booking engine has changed at all (is there some sort of queuing process now...?) since 2009, or if anyone is planning MSN groups, SMS drops etc...

cheers guys!

Nothing other than common sense - get up early and be first in line when the Seetickets page goes live.  Oh, and make sure you've registered / existing registrations are still valid.

new registrations all done and checked.

is there any queuing system on seetickets.com/g2010 or is that the page where you fill out your reg details etc - after having refreshed a thousand times before the page loads?

What a horrible thought, a festival populated purely with U2 fans.

Won't U2 fans have gone to see them on their tour already. I don't think we need to overly worry.

Anyway maybe they will all go home after U2 play on the Friday leaving it nice and quiet for the rest of us

How come people are saying to get them on Monday?
Last year they sold out by Sunday evening!
I got mine at 5 to 9 last year, as Seetickets normally go online a few minutes early

(had to cancel cos of exams though, so was futile in the end :( )

They are a right set of obsessives - go have a look at the U2 forums. Mentalists.  They'll be trying in droves for tickets if there is a rumour and them all going home friday isn't a lot of use to those without tics!

Dan - do we really need the whole world to know this? The reason me and thee and others got them before 9 last year is because the whole world doesn't know this and isn't trying at the same time. Edit that line out your post and then I'll edit it out of mine!!!!!

Keep an eye on eFests. I got tickets for someone for last year just through a chance glimpse at the forum where someone had found what appeared to have been a glitch :)

jeez can we not have a thread where there is no mention of fricking U2?

Appreciate all the advice on when to get your ticks, and all the (thinly) veiled subterfuge over waiting until later when the rush dies off (you guys are hilarious)....but....all i want know (as someone who didnt try for tickets last year) is how the booking system works now, and if there is anything that me or anyone else in the same position could do with knowing that might give us a better chance?

Few years back folks on here seemed to look after each other in this respect...i'm thinking that maybe those days have sadly gone....  :(

Panic! Edit your posts right now!!! Otherwise no one would think to go to the website before 9am  ;)  Take it easy guys, it's not the most top secret of things.

There was no difference in the ticketing system last year to the year before. If memory serves me right tickets sold out during the afternoon last year, it took several days the year before. I suspect it will be harder this year but don't get too worried.

My tips are:
Do it in a group if some of you can afford to pay out for more than one person (get them to pay it into your account that day). Have everyone's postcode and registration number ready. It won't let you do it more than once so don't worry about that.
Check out the forum on the day for backdoor links (and moral support)
Remember there are resales, if you're on the case with them you should get tickets in the end.

Best of luck B)
