Why no program this year? £7 for a laminate - what a swizz. I missed not being able to read up on bands and making decisions on who to see.

Yeah I totally agree. Another cost cutting con by Festival Republic. The woman selling them told me that they weren't doing them this year as people just bought it for the laminates and threw the programme away but that's bollocks. Last year I'm pretty sure you could buy the programme with the laminate for £7 or the laminate on its own for £5 so I don't see why they couldn't just carry on doing that if they thought people were throwing the programme away. It's just greed at the cost of the fans.

Bloody rediclious. Don't FR realise that you can print out band times for free? I used to buy it JUT for the program. I've got quite a collection now but I guess that's come to an end

I was a bit disappointed as I often decide who to watch according to he blurb in the programme

I was really pissed off at this
I didn't print off a timetable at home because I was gonna get the programme at the festival so it would've just been easier to use the lanyard that came with it
Alas I ended up ended up spending £7 for something which I basically already had :|
And how the hell are you meant to find bands that interest you
I remember reading about Frank Turner when he played low down in the lock-up and it was bloody amazing!
The people I asked had been told that it was because people complained about of them
It may cost less but the value absolutely shot down

The program and laminate was a tenner last year, but its obvious they got rid of it because the cost that comes with producing and writing the program was too high for their liking. Also they'd put it up every year and probably thought they couldn't get away with increasing it again and raking more cash in for them. No suprise that next yar the laminate will go up again a quid, and then another and they can continue to get even more cash off the punters and probably at a higher margin with the cost of the program gone. I was quite disappointed this year. I normally have a read through it for an hour or two on the Thursday but that went out of the window for their pure greed.

Last year you had to buy the set. Well I didn't see anyone at all just selling laminates. But I too enjoyed reading about that bands. Something to do if it was raining as well.

I saw people with the programmes, and they had FREE in the top corner, but couldn't find where to get them. It's the same thing Sonisphere did, they sell you the lanyard with times on for £5 then give the programme with info about the bands and campsites for free. Bit gutted that I came home without one

I just made one before I went to the festival with all the times on it, thus saving loads of money and not bowing down to the money making efforts of the program makers. Besides I found one in the pit for free, had a look through it and realised that the shoddy one I had done myself was actually much better than the official one, so I threw it back in to the pit.
Why do people willingly accept overpriced poor quality stuff from fesitvals. The food is another one, £7 for noodles with soy and a sprinkling of chicken, made it myself on my Trangia for less than 40p.
People should rebel against the Machine and demand cheaper prices all around
Reagarding a program with info about the bands do you really need it? is it really useful? Seeing as they all say every band is amazing, its hardly an unbiased review. Just go and spent a few hours before the festival listening to the bands you dont know and then decide who to see, rather than being told by the NME squires who is the best.

Yes, was very annoyed about this as I have a programme from all the festivals I have been to!
Keep all the laminates together too....I would have happily paid £10 for the combo of the two, like someone else said why not offer them seperatly?

Whenever I was in a busy crowd it always came apart and i had to keep it in my pocket anyway
Just annoyed me a bit lol

Aye, haha the slightest pull on mine and it'd come pinging off. Wasn't impressed, I ended up taping mine at the back.

The woman selling them on Wednesday said they were left with alot of programs at the end of last years festival and decided it wasn't worth wasting the paper. Plus the fact they can make more money selling just the lanyard!
I bought one and just kept it in my pocket, they always fall off if you dont.

There wasn't a lot in them, just a brief overview of the bands on the main stages and definately no timetables.

i was shocked when the girl gave me my laminate and then nothing else.....wasnt her fault but by this point i had already paid for it and handed over my money. Should have asked for it back really, but i stupidly walked off thinking there might be somthing worthwhile in the laminate.....there really wasnt....it annoyed me because i really missed having something to read when you have that little hour just to chill on your own before a band or when its raining.....think i might email and complain, because like you all say i have a collection too and actually enjoy finding them now and again and reminiscing about bands and the festival of yesteryears, is also quite funny to look back at like 06 and read about the band, who are now massive, but were then on smaller stages, and seeing what they had to say about themn!

The laminate was a piece of crap. The Programme actually had some value, but who wants to pay that kind of money for a product that is 65-75% advertising? FR screwed us over massively on that.

My bought a laminate, lost it so he bought another and lost that, so he bought another one, but this time he found his previous two, so he'd spent £21 on those pieces of crap.. I noticed that they fell apart really easily too, really disapointed with them.

Why not have a service where you can pre order a programme and pick it up at the fest? Then they would know how many they needed. I suppose it would be just too much hassle.
Or they could just give them away for free like at Glastonbury.
