Michael Eavis is building a £2M photovoltaic array on top of his cow sheds which are located at the bottom of a valley in sun starved Somerset. Michael, please build this somewhere far south of Pilton instead?

jameshunt, on 02 September 2010 - 06:30 PM, said:Vice versa. Galstonbury charges what it needs to in order to deliver the amazing amount of entertainment, whilst meeting the security requirements and other licensing restrictions and strives to make a reasonable profit to be donated to charity.
Other large festivals charge up to what Glastonbury does in order to make as large a profit as possible for what are in effect nothing more than 3 day open air concerts.
Ah true, it does give the most value for money compared to other festivals!

Like others have said it's more than just a few stages with music, it's entertainment and experiences that no other festival can offer which makes it really good value. I agree that many like Reading, Leeds and V especially are more 3 day open air concerts with little else to entertain yet for almost the same price.

Also a skint middle aged bloke, also think it is great value. I'm happy to pay approx the same to go to reading, which is, as mentioned, just 3 days of music.
Glasto ticket prices are alot of money, particularly for me (income of less than 10k) but it is brilliant value, especially when you consider things like being able to take your own booze, wherever you want to go, cheap food and drink available for those who hunt (50p tea tent, starkus = legend) and everything that you don't get elsewhere (late night areas, non-music events and entertainment, SO much more).

They're crafty them Glasto folk, they're like drug dealers, they get you hooked and then jack up the prices. Still more than worth it though.
