There was some talk of it going up to £50, so in that context it's not so bad.

no forces you to pay it.

We hire a bus so the payments minimal anyway between us all... I don't know why more people don't consider it.... so much easier.

If that was the case then they would've started ripping us off some time ago for the £20 for the programmes we get for free.
Glastonbury Festival supports Greenpeace and Oxfam who both campaign regarding climate change, and Water Aid whose work is directly affected by the effects of climate change on some parts of the world.
The policy of charging more for car parking is clearly in line with Glastonbury's overall political and charitable stance.
If you don't like it get a bus - that's the idea.

Therefore I do have to pay it.
If it wasn't acceptable then you wouldn't go.

You lot should think yourselves lucky, Campervan tickets are still £75 compared to £20 at Reading & Leeds.
I have no idea how they can justify £75 quid it is a bloody rip off.

£20 is still cheaper than taking a train. In my opinion (and it's only my opinion) It's a pretty small price to pay, I've paid nearly that for a couple of hours at Kendals in manchester, or in the short stay at the airport.
I can see that it going up and up each year seems a bit much, but I guess it's the nature of the beast now.

I wouldn't have thought that it costs £20 per program. How many get printed? Pretty sure they get a discount from the printers because of the volume and the per item cost wouldn't be anywhere near £20. Less than a fiver would be my guess.

Clearly. How do you know this?

It isn't practical for most people to use the no doubt great public transport that is laid on for the festival and therefore the majority of people will travel by car. Those people want to go to the festival and are therefore hammered with a £20 car park ticket.
The 2011 festival ticket price is £195 - a rise of just over 5%. The 2011 car park ticket has gone up by over 30%!

Cheaper than the train, I can take all my stuff with me and leave some in the car and im not made to leave on the Monday when a timetable says I have too.
When it breaches £50 then i'll have a think but hopefully by then i'll have a camper so as long as im not paying £150 for a campervan ticket it'll be 'reet

Its annoying but meh, its only a tenner each for two in a car , and the more people you fit, the less it is
Although I don't really agree with the idea of rising prices to get people to do something else..

Why is public transport not a viable option for either of you?

You need to do a journey: it's able to let to make that journey, so it's practical.
If you want to consider it as not practical, then that's simply a choice you've made, no different to a choice you might make to pay the car parking fee.

You might not care about emissions, but Glastonbury Festival always has. If you want to go to Glastonbury then you have to accept how Glastonbury does things.
