Was anyone involved in it? It was terrible where I was with people fainting all around me. Something needs to change for next year when leaving bands!

i dont believe there was a crush for libs, by the end i got from the middle to touching the front barrier and i hardly tried, so happy though because it meant i was at the front for arcade fire

The Paramore/Blink 182 one was terrible as well, took bloody ages to leave.

There was an awful crush in the libs at leeds
At one point early in the set, a load of people fell over and got trapped, as there was no room to pull people up and more just kept on fall on top of them
There was people on the bottom for about 10 mins, may not sound like long but when people were struggling to breathe for being crushed, must've been pretty terrifying
Not much organisers can do though, by the sounds of it the crowd wasn't especially huge, it was just unlucky

My mate was at the front for Paramore, he said there were people crying from pain and jumping over the front barrier constantly. It was okay for me because I was a lot further back.

Try being relentlessly crushed for their entire set then you might believe it.

It was abd, but wasn't "i'm going to die" crush. We got out pretty easily and we were 3/4 rows from the front.

Should of been at Reading in 08 for Qotsa/Rage. Crazy crushes at the front.

wasent this why libs left the stage after about 3 songs at leeds? or was that just a stunt?

It was pretty bad at Reading getting out between Paramore and Blink, and then they made an announcement for everyone to take 5 steps back. Not a lot of help for those of us near the D barrier as we all got crushed against that!

The Dizzee/Libs one was horrific. Girlfriend was having a panic attack, and people were just pushing and acting like assholes. Was alright once we got out but jesus it was hard to get through.

Blink crush was bad at first but then litend up. lot of the poeple getting crushed were groups of girls, i'm not being sexists but its good advice if your a girl to have a lad with you...
i think they might want to consider moving the disabled seating and possible loos further back , getting between bands was a bitch on the left side beacuse you couldn't turn left for a while after eventually getting out the golden circle due to the disabled platform and then people were trying to get in from the left due to the toilets.

Pendulum was probably the worst, especially during Salt In The Wounds and Slam. It did calm down a lot after those though. Blink must have been pretty bad if they actually asked people to step back for it though, I was probably about 20 rows back or so and thought it was fine though the crush at Rage Factor was far worse than anything I experience at Reading.

This is why I never go right near the front at Leeds. I hear loads of horror stories about the crushes and given the size of the crowd it's just not worth the risk IMO.

Why would you want to be at the front? It's uncomfortable, smelly and the sound quality is shit.

I'm the same, I just don't enjoy people pushing and elbowing there way forward, I'd rather just stay at the side and enjoy the set.

I guess some people do it for the atmopshere etc. But the horror stories I've heard about bands that have played in the past such as RATM and The Prodigy are a bit offputting.

If there's a band playing on the Main Stage that I really like I make an effort to get close but not so close that I'm really uncomfortable. Otherwise I tend to stand around where there's reasonable space.
End of the day, seeing a band is all about the experience of live music and having a good time, and not fighting for your life.

There were loads of people being lifted out onto the food vans to the left of the stage between Dizzee and The Libertines. Coped alright with the crush myself, as I was with some pretty big guys, and I'm pretty tall, but could see how people could have been very uncomfortable. It's something that doesn't really seem to happen nearly as much at other festivals, so it's something that could probably do with being looked at.
