I went to see them on Friday at Leeds and have to say they were really really poor, not many people behind the barrier got into it and everyone I spoke to thought they were sh1t.
What a waste of £1m or whatever they got paid, I wish I had gone to see the Black Angels instead

I didn't think of th tbh but to say they were a waste of money is a bit much - plenty of people enjoyed it and came to the festival just for them.

Band of the weekend for me. I was right towards the front and everyone was loving it!

Fair points and I'm glad some people enjoyed it, plenty of people were leaving after 2 or 3 songs. I was personally underwhelmed by them as I've always liked them but thought they lacked the big sound you need to be able to provide to play the Main Stage at Leeds, maybe they would have been better in a tent.

I thought they were brilliant. Much better than KOL, Arctice Monkeys & Radiohead put together last year!
It was a top day on Friday - Modest Mouse, Maccabees, The Cribs, The Libertines & Arcade Fire all top top class.

Band of the weekend for me. I was right at the front but they were on form.

They were alright, nothing special for me. The only decent sub headliners this year was QOTSA

They were absolutely terrible
Festival republic wasted a million pounds to find out 2 thing we already knew
- Pete Doherty is a wate of space
- Libertines really wernt that good before they split up

I thought they were a bit slow starting but after 3/4 songs it really was fantastic not worth the money but put on a quality show.

Agreed. Topped off an already great summer.
Every song was a classic, even managed to leave out some of my favs (Campaign of Hate and The Boy Looked at Jonny). Obviously they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they made a lot of people's festival.

I didnt go this year but they looked good on tv and seemed to have a massive crowd. Most bands would be better in a tent but you have to think of safety considerations.

Really enjoyed them as did most people I spoke to. Seems the reviews for them are overwhelmingly positive and the crowd were singing along to every word.
It was obvious that people were going to slate them no matter what but I think those critising them are in the minority and this will be shown in the next few days

Saw them at Reading and they were, by far, my band of the festival. Everyone I spoke to rated them as well.

I'm not that into The Libertines either, but had a great time watching them on Saturday at Reading.
Just a shame about the twat who decided to lob a pint of piss that landed on me and my mate.

They were alright, better than Arctic Monkey's last year, didn't blow me away, but seen worse.

Highlight of the Libertines was Up The Bracket "You see these two cold fingers".

f**k me there are a lot of miserable bastards on here. They were amazing I didn't find one person on the reading site that seen them and didn't enjoy it but knew when I came home and looked here it would without fail be people who wanted to moan about it. What didn't there set have? Great songs, played well, interacted enough, long enough set, on time, what else do you want? The fact they had a crowd probably 4x bigger than Arcade Fire just shows you how many people enjoyed it.
