They bombed at Reading and now they've cancelled their Leeds show. I'm a GNR fan 4 life but not blinkered enough to fail to see that this is the end of any reputation Axl had left.
I'm not sure even a reunion with Slash can save him now.

A band which shows such utter contempt for their fans deserves to never get another booking. It's not as if they're a new, amateur band is it?

Have they actually called off their Leeds gig?

Good article there, cutting description. "The Replacements' bassist Tommy Stinson has been dragooned into what might mercifully be Axl's last stand. He can do nothing for the sad, slack stumble this band has become."
Ouch
Still wish I'd gone though

It's funny how people are so wound up about them coming on an hour late at Reading, when from all accounts they did the same at Leeds in 2002 people loved it, and it just added to the "experience" of seeing GNR. Plus, what do people expect? They have a track record of being very un-punctual.
Now I REALLY wish I was at Leeds. The rumours flying around the site right now must be pretty tasty.

"At least we're on time"

After an hour late and consistent booing even when they came on stage the whole band failed to read the crowd at all. That said the actual tightness, sound and performance of the band didn't seem too bad to me. But, on the whole a naive bunch of idiots on stage failing to deliver to such an important crowd as Reading.

We r in constant talks to ensure the fans attending Leeds get what they paid for w/out undue bureaucratic interference. We thank you for your understanding. Peace!!
In regard to Reading we feel at the very least the fans deserve an apology from those responsible for the nonsense. We'd also like to thank the fans for being so great, singing along n' not tearing the place apart!
Here's an idea AXL, buy a watch
