Seriously craving a festival after all the adverts and stuff on TV about reading have made me really want to go! The line is truly unbelievable even if I do dislike the festival itself, I mean Arcade fire, Libertines, Foals, Maccabees, Blink 182, Guns n Roses, Mumford and sons, NOFX, TDCC etc... but I don't have anyone to go with :'(
Sorry had to let the world know!

I can't believe I'm actually saying this but the line-up for V Festival is so much better for me, there are alot more bands that I want to see on there:
Feeder
Magic Numbers
Mark Lanegan
Matt and Kim
Divine Comedy
Air
Madness
Eels
Seasick Steve
Doves
Passion Pit
If I was going to go to any other festival, not V in perticular then I would have to go with an open mind because I know I would be constantly comparing it to Glastonbury. I would have love to have gone to V just for the day today because I reckon it would have been an immense day out, you've just got to look through all the radio garbage and indie landfill acts they have on there and there are some right gems on the line ups as shown above.
The only good bands on the Reading and Leeds line ups (IMO Of Course) are Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse!

Problem with reading is that there's loads of crazy people there.

For experience R&L certainly aren't anywhere near the best but line up wise it's quite fantastic this year. Obviously depending on your musical taste.

beans on toast for christ sake
There are some quality bands on at Alchemy. Just because they're not mainstream NME fodder doesn't mean they're any less brilliant.
And aren't festivals about more than just the music?

Meh, I suppose NOFX are alright but I dunno, the reading and leeds line ups have never really suited me. And yeah, if I was gonna go I would go for the day and camp only if the line up was majorly good like it was in 2008, but I would just have to hold my tounge and go with an open mind

The riots are hugely exaggerated, you'll be fine.

The riots are seriously overplayed i've been 2 years in a row and the only time ive encountered them is when ive gone on walks on the sunday. If you go looking you'll find them but otherwise you'd be unlucky to be near them.

Around the campsites, basically the more primitive of people normally start banging on the toilets then go round shouting riot whilst walking round and having a bit of a laugh. About 50% of them just shout a bit but a few are knobs and start big fires etc. However the fire ban this year on sunday evening plus knowing where to camp should do the trick. If you want to avoid it ive been in orange for 2 years and had no trouble at all. From my experience Purple and Red seemed the worse with yellow being a dodgey aswell.

Yup it seems a few people get caught up in it who dont deserve it at all but no one ive known has been in any problems for the last few years so luck of the draw.
