Queens of the Stone Age are clashing with Mumford. I've never seen Queens but i seen Mumford at Glasto thinking if i see them there i wouldnt mind missing them at Leeds. But its done the opposite, they were amazing. They were 2nd to only Muse for me. So i just want to know what people think QOTSA will be like after they got slated for their '08 set.
Also if i go Mumford, will i struggle getting to the front for GN'R?

id say itll be impossible to get to the front for gnr if you go to mumford
im in the same problem as you i think queens will be good but really wanna see mumford!"

Sorry sorry sorry, for a minute there i thought you were considering watching M&S instead of QOTSA. Oh wait you are, QOTSA will be amazing (everyone has 1 bad gig every so often?) and seen as though you've already seen M%S no competition really is it?

I have no clue as well
sigh no more was on repeat when it was released last year up until a few months ago
I don't really understand the appeal of qotsa at the moment, the only songs I can get my head around is no one knows, feel good hit of the summer and lost art of keeping a secret - although I'm slaying away at the albums
but when will I ever get to see qotsa again
and Mumford will be force fed down me over the next year at least
any advice?!

Just watch Adam Green. I doubt you'll see a more energetic and fun set the whole weekend.

I was absolutely gutted with QOTSA in 08', most disappointing band of the weekend by a mile. I figured everyone has bad gigs but after seeing Homme with TCV at Download I'm certain he's the worst frontman I've seen (for a large group, I've seen some shit small bands), no energy, enthusiasm, passion or crowd interaction etc. Just the smug & self satisfied. A real shame.

i'm in the same situation with the clash.
except ive never seen mumford and never seen QOTSA. love them both, the more i listen to mumford the more they grow on me and want to see them. however QOTSA would be an experience and would get a good spot for GNR
arghhhhh :S

I'm a bit gutted I have to miss M&S but for me it is a have to
QOTSA have played some amazing shows in the past, and I get the feeling Mr Homme will want to show up Axl Rose
Mumford's will be everywhere for the next few years so you're not exactly gonna miss anything which you can't catch again next time round

That's what i'm doing
Not a big fan of QOTSA, and seen Mumford twice in early 2009, after seeing footage of them at glastonbury i'm glad I have something to miss them for, theyve changed alot.

This is a man who talks sense
Can't wait for Adam Green always a great performance. I saw him in San Diego earlier this year playing to about 20 people. But he still gave it his all and it was still an awesome performance.
By the way I thought the original poster was talking about wanting to go to Marks and Spensors

I can't believe you're even asking this. Mumford and Sons are just another Zane Lowe band of the week, they'll have their 1/2 years of fame and then they'll gracefully disappear as soon as the next big thing for Radio 1 to jizz over comes along. QOTSA on the other hand have been around for over 10 years and have made 4 top quality albums during that time. The question answers itself.

the festival republic stage has an answer to your question - blood red shoes are hot stuff! so energetic, and well worth a watch if you're indifferent about m&s and qotsa.
if you're still set on the two aforementioned bands, then i'd recommend qotsa. admittedly, they underperformed in 08 but they're still an amazing band and this is a rare chance to catch their awesome live set.

So what you are saying is go and watch Mumford because they won't be around much longer, and QOTSA will be around for another 10 years so plenty of time to catch them again?

I plan to catch second half of blood red shoes
would the fr tent be absoloutley rammed by this time as it's only small?

Personally I think I'll be watching Mumford as already seen QOTSA twice and although I love them, I'd rather watch a band I also like, but haven't seen. Plus I wanna watch Phoenix and LCD Soundsystem, so it'll be easier to stay in the one tent
