Hey, newbie at global this year!
Just wanted to check a few things....

At global. does EVERYONE get searched at the gates??
and is it a full body search???
Will they literally pull all your stuff out of your bag and look at everything??
or do they random search people?

Can we not take food into the campsite at all? not even crisps and biscuuits and stuff???
what about diabetics???

and is it definately no alcohol allowed?????

thanks. any info would be great!!!! xxxx

No not everyone will get searched.  By the time they open the gates the queue is massive so it's impossible to search everyone.  You will have to walk past the tables where they search but if you don't hang around you should be ok.

I have heard rumours that people have been strip searched before but it's highly unlikely unless you are caught with dodgy stuff in the first place.  They have sniffer dogs there but again just avoid them if you can.

If you do get searched you just have a quick rummage in your bag and show them there is nothing in there. Generally you aren't supposed to take food or alcohol in to the site but people smuggle stuff in you just need to be discreet about it.

I'm unsure about diabetics so it might be worth you contacting GG.

Hope this helps.

the searches were no different to any other festival i have been to this year, so basically it was completely hyped up that the searches are rediculous at Global. in the end there was nothing to worry about once all of our group got in we all wished we had tried to smuggle more drink in!
