I did have a tinge of regret seeing the Orbital coverage but I thoroughly enjoyed Stevie's set and would have kicked myself more for missing it. I'm sure Orbital will be back again another year, I'll never see Stevie again. I got my "bang" from legging it after Superstition to Arcadia for the fire show and then Bez's Acid House. God I wish I was back there!
It was our intention to see Orbital this year but after listening to the sound quality of the other stage during the day on passing, it sounded quite poor, it might just have been the band that was playing whilst we walked past tho, and a chat with a guy by the side of the pyramid field who was a off duty steward which we agreed that you could catch an orbital set quite freqently as opposed to Stevie who was going to be a one off. Therefore as we probably wouldn't go to a stevie concert and the pyramid sound system sounding top notch this year we saw stevie and we all enjoyed it

Stevie was the perfect way to end such a hot, sunny, awesome weekend, well and truely getting the funk on :D

He's not someone I'd ever have bought a ticket for, but to be there in the presence of a living legend was almost beyond belief. I knew he would be good, but I could never have imagined he'd be THAT good!

Orbital were amazing and more than made up for last years disappointment of Prodigy as the closing band for me anyway.

Generally, you have to believe there is no such thing as a wrong choice at Glastonbury. If you aren't enjoying whhat's in front of you, you should move on. If you are enjoying it, it doesn't matter what you're missing elsewhere.

The reason we have to hold this belief is that there is no way you can learn from it. The choices you make this time won't help you make better choices next time because the choices will be different, even if they look the rounghly the same. (Chemical Brothers V Oasis & Prodigy V Blur)

The only exception to this is the football on Sunday - I will never, never, ever, do that again.

I think Stevie was the right choice first and foremost because it was brilliant, and secondly because it was a one-off, but anyone who had a good time at Orbital made the right choice too. You only made the wrong choice if you stood through one wishing you were at the other.

Prodigy's setlist hasnt changed in 3 years. Can fully understand why you thought Orbital was better.

Orbital are fine - I like them live, but Stevie's a legend. I have to admit I was concerned that he would play a noodly, annoying set and was tempted to watch Rodrigo y Gabriela instead, but I'm so glad I saw Stevie. There's no way I'll ever see him again, and Superstition and Higher Ground were damn near worth the whole festival ticket price alone, as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely brilliant.

I think this sums up my thoughts on this perfectly

Either Stevie or Orbital would've been a perfect end to the festival for me, slight twinge of regret when I heard about Matt Smith (and on watching it when we got home) but there wasn't once during Stevie's set I wanted to be anywhere else...

What a f**king retarded thread

The original poster is an idiot, trying to make themselves feel better about the choice they made. Dick.

Ever thought of attending Anger Management classes?  Looks like you could do with chilling out a bit.

I haven't read any replies to the original post but what kind of mong would compare a gig that they are standing in the middle of to something showing on the telly. Struggling to comprehend how anyone can even be prepared to write down such nonsense in full public view.

No wrong choice is there?

I was keen to try and see a bit of both and having started at Orbital was just thinking about bobbing over for a bit o' Steve when Orbital suddenly became very VERY good and it all went out the window...

Have watched the coverage at home and much as Stevie looked fun (and yes, we all know the telly isn't like being there) I'm not to regretful - was it 45mins in to the set he dropped 'Higher Ground'? Plus I don't think anything will top Blur in 2009 for quite some years for me - that was just extraordinary.

I had that fear too...not the first time it's happened. But the Glasto Gods were on the side of Dance Music on Sunday night and all the sound issues went in the bin. Loud, clear and BASSY!

I know what you mean, but although you can't touch the atmosphere of a live gig you can at least get an idea of what you missed (or at least a set list!). I thought the first half of the Stevie set was rather dull but hey I wasn't there (actually ditto Orbital - to familiar until the half way mark) but I can imagine it was colossal fun in general.

Also a big shout out for The Levellers who played on way past all the other acts finishing and were simply brilliant.

No wrong choice but it didn't have to "top" Blur (I had the same worry I think) Each one is different and things can be equally brilliant in totally different ways.

For my favourite headliners of the past few years I thought Jay Z was amazing in a dynamic way, Blur were amazing in an emotional way, and Stevie Wonder was amazing in a very purely happy way.

If you were intending to move but found you were enjoying yourself too much, you couldn't have been in the wrong place.
