oh dear...
i fear the health and safety squad will be on patrol next year telling people to stop having fun
It's not about stopping people having fun, its about keeping people safe. Yes that might sound boring but are you really saying that the only way you can have fun is by climbing a pole?
It might all seem harmless at the time but booze and heights don't mix well. I lost a mate of mine from uni who was hammered on a night out and decided to climb a wall that was 6ft or so. He lost his balance, landed on his head, spent 3 months in a coma and eventually died of a stroke having never regained conciousness. He was only 23.
I wasn't there that night but no one who was there thought it was a bad idea when he was doing it, we always used to do stupid stuff like that and never thought about anything going wrong, it just seemed like a good idea at the time but 6 years on the sight of him falling and the sound he made when he hit the ground still haunts all of my mates that saw it and the guilt of letting him do it is never going to leave them.
It might seem like nothing at the time and I'm certainly not saying that you should wrap yourself up in cotton wool after all never taking risks would lead to a very boring life but from my own experience the consequences of minor actions whilst enjoying yourself really can be tragic.
