Camped on Pennards.  Always been a set of loos at the top by the SC entrance and a set at the bottom by the railway line.

Top gone.
Bottom shifted half way up hill and fewer.

Few toilets by park too.

I thought it was better than last year for toilets. A lot more clean ones too

There were toilets between the Stone Circle and the Pennards entrance, and there were toilets at the top of Pennards, next to the Park's entrance nearest the Tipi fields, so think they'd just moved things around a bit rather than reduce numbers.

+1

Seemed a lot better this year. Better pumping out (maybe the new storage tank freed up lorries?), better cleaning, more urinals and less smells than last year(despite the hotter weather). Without wanting to sound TOO weird, I actually enjoyed a couple of my visits to the long drops this year - nice breeze / open air on a sunny day etc etc.   :D

the toilets themselves were absolutely fine - considering the heat, they could have been pretty grim.  They'd just cut the Pennards number.

My friend having contracted Glasto-interitus on the Thursday spent a happy hour on a long drop with a copy of the Guardian!

They could do with putting some in Avalon - it's a long run from the bar to the ones in the cabaret field.

It seemed like there were fewer toilets (and water points) this year to me also.  I assumed the move up the hill for the lower pennards block was due to bad drainage last year and it really looked like it made a difference.

There were more urinals though, which helped keep general standards up, I reckon.

I noticed that some areas now have large blocks of loos combined, where it used to be several blocks which were at different locations.  This undoubtdely helps the infrastructure people and makes emptying/maintaining easier, however as each block came with a water point previously I think this is less than ideal for punters.

Agreed. Enjoyed Avalon field a lot this year but it was a trek to the loos.
I'm sure there were less taps this year, especially the sink ones where you could just wash your hands. Ended up either having to join big queue of people filling water bottles up or jumping in to rinse hands (have to admit to the latter a few times).

They increased the number of toilets a couple of years ago. Since then it has been fine. I have never camped at Pennards so I wouldn't know but as a previous post says it looks they just moved toilets around so there were more scattered about in different places. The only time I had to queue is by the Pyramid after it kicked out. I went there once and wished I hadn't - enough said! Other than that they were fine and a lot cleaner than usual - even the portaloos, which I normally avoid like the plague!

In the grand scheme of things, the walk from Avalon to Cabaret is only a few minutes... Frankly, I have to walk 5 times the distance in the Real World™ to find a WC to use if I'm out and about!

I have two comments about the loo/water situation...;

Firstly... if you're brushing your teeth, you don't need to spend 10 minute brushing your teeth over the sink. Wet your brush, and f*ck off! Better still use a water bottle. If you're not using the water, there's no need for you to be contributing to the queue.

Secondly... Disabled toilets.. Secured by a combination lock.
Which bright spark wants to admit to that idea?
On multiple occasions over the festival, some "wag" went around changing all the combinations. Despicable.  :(

I thought the loos were cleaner this year. I noticed they masked people going in with sprays and things do not remember seeing that before. I think the water situation could be improved. If they have a standpipe why cant they link sinks to it like they have near Lulus cafe. There was a little bit of agro at the standpipe near the where we were. There was along queue and just the one standpipe. A women was washing her hair, everybody waiting, she rinsed her hair good they thought she will be gone soon. Then she started to condition her hair, I will leave it up to you to imagine what was being said.

I thought the toilets were fine this year, even without my beloved "comfy crappers". We did notice the reduction in convenience at pennards but it didnt seem much to make a difference for me. luckily i was always up at about 5.30 and went in search of the tiny tea tent and a freshly cleaned turdis for my daily relief! The times i did visit the long drops...they smelt how i remebered them...but were admitedly, less minging than previous years...maybe the sun was drying them out or some such jiggery pokery. Hope this rings true in the coming years!

Didn't appear to be any urinals there this year tho  or at least not obvious ones anyway although must admit I didn't actually wander over to check, just headed back towards Ye Olde Railwaye Line instead.  Seemed more than a bit d@ft TBH given the usual problems with significant levels of hedge P!$$ing up there even when there were urinals within very easy reach as there have been in several recent years.
