My friend rather stupidly left her purse on the ground where we had been sitting for Rolf, full of cash. As soon as we realised we went back to look and someone sitting nearby said it had been found, and the person was going to hand it in.

She went to the farmhouse to report it missing but wasn't really expecting to get it back, but when she went up there on Sunday it was there and had all the cash still in. It really reaffirmed our faith in human nature.

While she was there someone was handing in £2,000 cash that they had found  :o

Just goes to show that the spirit of Glastonbury still abounds and its not all theiving bastards as per the other thread!

Thanks once again for whoever took the time out to hand it in, she's out of work at the moment and really couldn't afford to lose that amount of money  :D

Friend of mine got her phone back too after dropping it at Florence. We were surprised it hadn't been stood on, never mind that someone bothered handing it in.

The Glastonbury spirirt triumphs again!

When I was on shift at Wicket, a guy came over and said he was looking for his phone. He'd called it off his mate's phone, and it'd been handed in to the stewards at the other end of Wicket, and he'd gone to collect it. Said he was surprised that it'd been handed in rather than stolen.
Faith in human kind = restored.

My friend saw someone dropping his wallet in the dance tent... he picked it up, ran after him to give it back.

5 mins later that bloke came back angry because his pills were missing and thought my mate stole them! and apparently he wouldnt leave my mate alone for like 15 mins demanding his pills back....

Out of order I thought... not even a thank you for returning his wallet with all his cash.

yeah my kids saw an iphone drop from someones pocket on Wednesday and returned straight away and were given £20 as a reward. They were made up. Then they also found a wallet at Other Stage and returned that too.

I found a wallet at Park camping area and handed it in to lost property. Was quite funny tho as had a school bus pass in and some condoms :) hahaha!

I've just had an email from the lost property people to let me know that my bag which had my phone, camera and ipod in has been found and put in the post today. I'd like to buy whoever handed it in a drink to say thanks but I don't suppose that I will find out who it was.

last year, a friend of my sisters son (?) dropped all his money for the weekend in a wedge, while he was putting up his tent... he was pretty distraught (it was about £500!) and had pretty much given it up as gone. My sister said they might as well ask if it had been handed in, which he thought was pointless. They asked, and the people were handing it in while he was there... he was amazed and gave them £100 (£25 each). He truly didn't believe things like that ever happened, and it made him realise how good it is to do the 'right' (?) thing

see, that's how it works, it gets passed on

I was a steward in shangri la and I got about 3 wallets/purses, 2 phones, a bag, a watch, shoes and a jacket handed in to me all in one day. I started my shift at 7am that day so think it was from the night before

I woke up Friday morning and realized i was missing an AMerican Express and MasterCard and my driver's license which i had in a separate pocket of my jeans on thursday evening. figuring i'd get the wrath of the missus back in america when i called her to cancel the cards i went up to the lost property in the morning on what i thought would be a hopeless cause, but alas, all had been turned in already!!! my lucky day. I love the people of Glastonbury. I see less and less idiots roaming the grounds each year. That's what makes Glastonbury wonderful, and in a way, putting the fence up in 2002 did keep a lot of the riff-raff out.

This is heart warming :-)  I found an ipod and handed in to Pennards.  I'd be interested to find out if anyone claimed it / lost property managed to find the owner  :)

We spotted a handbag on the floor next to us just before Scissor Sisters. Asked the people around us if it belonged to them and it didnt.

We kept hold of it in case the people came back and about 15 minutes later a group of girls appeared looking distraught, it was one of theirs.

Hugs and kisses all round and a general feeling of niceness (??)

:D :D

On Saturday I was having a beer outside the Acoustic tent and almost tread on a camera.  I had a trawl through the pics (I'm nosey!) but it turned up trumps as there was a pic of a tax form with someone's name and address! (Note to self - take a pic of name. addy and phone number on own camera).

I wasn't sure about handing it in so took iot home and last week wrote to the address (cos there was nothing under directory inquiries, facebook, etc etc) and the owner of the camera called me yesterday!  Camera duly despatched to rightful owner today (and owner did offer to cover costs but hey what's the cost of feeling good about yersel?!)

Last year my li'l trolley's wheel sheared off coming down killer hill near PG3 -  loaded with half a lorry load of tent and stuff.  The number of randoms who stopped and helped us was amazing.  This year I returned the favour to a poor geezer this year who was struggling with his load in the queues from E2 to PG1.  My (new!) trolley had spare room so asked if he wanted some help.  His face was pic of disbelief at first then complete relief as it returned to sommat resembling normal from strained crimson.

Goods deeds breed good deeds  - tis the Glastobury way.

Always nice to hear these things, but its not just Glasto. Most people (despite what seems like a lot of evidence to the contrary at times) are basicly good. I know so many people who have lost something, shruged it off and thought thats it and have been talked into going to the police station, and whadda you know, there it is, waiting for them. I remember the police having a story in the local paper asking for people to come in and claim their lost belongings cos they've got so much stuff handed in and they wanted to get rid of some of it.
