Did anyone else see Richard (with guest slot by Teddy) Thompson? Truly wonderful - just him and an acoustic guitar and some of the finest songs ever written, "Beeswing", Vincent Black Lightning 1952" "When The Spell is Broken" etc etc.
One of the highlights of the festival for me.

I managed to catch Stevie too - bit of a dash to the Pyramid. He was excellent too in a completely different way. The Acoustic Tent was about half full but tremendous atmosphere and you could tell Richard really appreciated it. The guy is a genius.

Wanted to, but the clash with Faithless and Stevie in a packed field, on the final day, was unfortunately a no-brainer.

shame to hear it was only half full. i was tempted to see him, but went with the Broken Social Scene/Julian Casablancas duo as a prelude to Stevie instead. If the Strokes had played one of the special guest slots on sat, i would've skipped JC and caught R.Thompson, but alas clashes, clashes...

And not forgetting Loudon Wainwright immediately before him. With a quick walk round to Stevie Wonder, it made a pretty unbeatable way to finish to the weekend.

I was there, front and centre for once. An excellent, intimate set and seeing the great man alone with a guitar really showed just how good he is.
Having something like that to look forward to at the end of Sunday really holds off the "end of festival blues". Plus I'd been to I Am Kloot in the Queens Head just before so my Sunday was great.

Richard was one of my two unmissable acts for the weekend and it was everything I could have wished for. I saw Teddy Thompson a few years ago and was rather underwhelmed, but I was blown away by his voice this year (must get it from his Mum).
He was my favourite act on Sunday, possibly the highlight of my festival.
Why do tragic songs played by very talented people make us so happy?

There was so much good stuff on Sunday evening I tried a bit of cramming. My evening went; most of Quantic on the Jazz, last half of I am Kloot at the Queens Head, back to the Jazz for most of Toots, up to the acoustic for the last half of RT, over to the pyramid for 40 mins of Stevie and finished off the fest with a blast of Orbital on t'other stage. Not always a good idea doing it that way but the crowds seemed to part for me nicely, scooped up square pies/ pints of ale/burrows as I went with little delay and really enjoyed the 'tour'

It was one of my highlights too! I was right at the barrier, and thought Richard seemed in a really good relaxed mood. I loved how Teddy came on stage for a contribution with a steaming cup of tea in his hand!
It was difficult deciding what to see on the Sunday, but the man is a guitar genius and unmissable.
