Son: Hey Dad!! Look! Isn't that the Q review for this years Glastonbury?
Me: Oh yes it is! Fantastic! I've been looking all over for that.
Son: Is that the magazine with the huge poster showing the spectacular view of the whole of the festival?
Me: It sure is son!!!
Son: Can we get it, I want to see our tent and show mother and my chums where we camped. It'll be especially wizard!
Me: Agreed Son. Also we'll see the Kidz Field where we had so many wonderful memories, especially Bodger having a breakdown. Let's get it.
Son: You're the Greatest Dad!
Me: I love you Son!
Son: I love you Dad!
We get home and after pouring lashings of Ginger beer, we settle down to find Cockmill on the poster. Imagine our horror to find no Cockmill and no Kidz Field.
Son: We f**king aren't on there! What a load of mother f**king bullshit!
Me: I'm sorry Son.
Son: f**k you Dad, they even managed to show vast swathes of premium camping like Tangerine Fields and Myhab, plus the Yurts. Why didn't you pay over the odds for that. You are so f**king cheap! I hate you!
Me: I'm really sorry Son.
Son: Thats it I've lost all faith in humanity, I'm off to download N-Dubz and then peddle Crack in the Playground!
Quite frankly I'm disgusted with Q. No Cockmill, no Kidz Field. I suggest everyone post them a dead animal a day until they print a poster showing the family camping areas and Kidz Field. Also burn all Q Daily's, and your £10 programme you kept as souvenirs.
Together we can make them change their kid hating ways!

Traditionally the aerial shot has always had Kidz field in the foreground, with nothing outside the fence shown except for a few western carparks in the background...I'm looking at last years as I type.
Sounds like someone at the w*nky posh camps paid Q to ensure their overpriced facilities were featured in the photo this year.
Top post BTW, really made me chuckle

I think the site is now too big to get it all on 1 picture
the plane would have to be so high up to capture the site you probably wouldn't be able to see your tent anyways....
but i agree, i was also pissed off not to see the field we camped in and the kids were even more pissed off than the adults....

I too thought it was a poor effort this year. Posted on another thread.
MrZigster, on 02 July 2010 - 12:56 PM, said:I suppose it gets harder to do as the site expands but Q have cut off three edges, and the stone circle looks deserted to me. Anyone think it may have been photoshopped about with. What I want is: Someone find the centre of the site, go straight up. Take photo straight down when you can get the entire site in the viewfinder.
Edit: And my tent's hidden behind a hedge

but bit of a shame to see quite so much apparently wasted prime camping space now inside Stalag Hospitality I thought.

Very odd angle of the site on the poster this year. I camped all the way in park home so I can still sort of see my tent.
I didn't mind too much as I still have lasts years up and it's more interesting to look at the different views. Even if it is just mainly of the organised hospitality tents.
I was rooting around the cupboards the other day and found another strange angled q poster which showed kings medow and shangri la closest. Shangri la was only about 4 bigish tents so it must have been taken in 2002, something like that. I wouldn't mind seeing a good ariel shot of what it looks like these days.

Lost Vagueness (as it was before ShangriLa) was in it's infancy back then, never appeared on maps and was something to stumble upon in the witching hours.
From Memory, the tents would have been the Ballroom, Diner, Chapel & possibly an early form of Continental Drifts (who now do Club Dada), it had loads of micro-venues (much like the tunnels, only without the nicely designed frontages) in various marquees and caravans. It was a proper ramshackle affair, with venues moving fields over the weekend, usually due to arguments with neighbours

I'm sure it is probably just a coincidence really and they just picked the best looking photo. The emphasis is more on the crowd at the Pyramid stage than anything else.
But I'm still going to post a dead badger today, by courier. Hmm TheDX/SMS should do.
