I went to glasto 90, one of the wet ones, and still love watching it on telly, but really feel that thses things should be the territory of the young, I can imagine my neices znd nephews being really cheesed off if they saw their Aunty 'Mutton' boogying away I'm not saying the you should give up listening to new bands after 40, but it has to be said that there are enough of 'our' bands still going to keep us wrinklies happy, and that festivals etc should have an age limit of 30. We usually have the money to spend on them which may be one reason tickets sell out so fast, how many students have £200 sitting in the bank in January? No wonder k so many 'weekenders ' are full of grey bonces. We really should do our 'yoof' a favour and treat them to the festival experience if we have the funds and stay at home with the cat and a large G and T!

Age limit of 30? Christ on a bike, thats half this forum barred from going. Although, looking at the paragraph above it does look like it's written by someone under 30.

Err feel free not to go if you don't want to go but I started going in 07 at the age of 36 and it is my intention to continue to go as long as I'm having fun. If you're going and not having fun maybe thats the time to stop...

First one last year at 46. I regret not having gone when I was younger, but I'm bloody well going to make up for it now. Don't worry about oldster bands. I'm more than happy to see the new stuff.
Oh and if my "Dad dance" embarrasses you that's your problem. I'm fine with it :-)

There are plenty of festivals that don't exactly cater for the 'family' (
). Our kids love the fact that we all go, and randomly meet up every now again, and make a point of sharing acts like Stevie Wonder, Chemical Brothers, Faithless, etc together.
I thought this was one of the great things about our generation, that the old rules don't have to apply anymore..??
You do know how old the guys farm is, the man who lets Glastonbury happen, don't you?
of course this could be trolling

Sorry, but that's the biggest load of ageist nonsense I have ever heard. Glastonbury is for EVERYONE who is up for it - shall we tell Michael Eavis he should stay in his farmhouse and keep out the way because he's in his 70's? Shame on you! You might be ready to throw the towel in but most of us are not. I'm 44 and this year, had the best Glasto EVER and yet again, I out-partied everyone in my gang - the youngsters simply couldn't stand the pace.

I've done more wild things in my 30s than I could even have imagined as a teenager.

Some people take on being old. Great - you go for it.
But don't try to lay it on others.
As I mentioned to Emily ( :whistling: ) I hope to be at the 60th year, tho' I will be nearly 80 then
Anyway I think an agelimit would be illegal. At least the Gov. got that bit right!

is there a limited resource of 'wild times', and you think we're taking up too much of them ?
One of my pet peeves of the world, people who assume that everyone is like them. You, obviously, are happy not to go, but why impose your thoughts/wishes on others?

the oldies make it more diverse than festivals like reading/leeds, keep the oldies! they give a relaxed chilled vibe, and this is coming from a 19 year old

Iggy Pop. Glastonbury 07. Aged 60. Doesnt really get "wilder" at Glasto.

I'll be doing whatever the hell makes me happy till the day I die. I'm in my 30s and having a great time going to festivals, I don't care if it doesn't suit the odd teenager. As there is no demographic for Glastonbury, and the age range of festival goers ranges from newborn to almost dead, I'm certainly not ready to give it up for the kidz!

Yeah, ban the old farts.
Also have an upper limit of 30yrs for performers, too. Then see what kind of line-up you get.

Biggest load of bull I have heard for a while. So you are saying my 32 year old sister can't come to glasto because she is not "yoof".
Keep this turd chat to yourself.

I'm sorry - what right have you to suggest that my 'Wild Times' are over. They're only just beginning as far as I'm concerned.
What on earth has age got to do with it anyway? As long as you behave in a way which doesn't hurt those around you, who gives a shit if you're 70, 17 or 7? Can we all not be wild together? What a troll.
