Sunday was such a frantic fab day & night, would have loved the monday as a whole chill day, maybe the monday like the thursday but with pubs and everything closing at 12 ?

If you stayed until Tuesday, doubt that you would feel very good watching everyone else leave. I like to move with the crowd. It was quite difficult leaving on the Monday, watching the site gradually empty out. Even seeing some of the spaces in the campsites on the Sunday night was a sign that a good thing was coming to an end. However, if everyone stayed until Tuesday, that'd be a different matter.

Its a good idea but I can 100% guarantee that the Monday would turn into the Sunday and everyone would need the Tuesday to recover

Alas it has to end at some point. I'm always sad about it. In recent years we've taken the policy of getting the hell out of Dodge in the wee small hours of Monday to avoid the traffic and not having to watch the site empty around you.
We'll all be back soon enough...

I quite liked leaving after the bands on Sunday this year, I do find it a bit depressing watching the site empty around you (lots of tents around us were packed up by Sunday morning!).

We were up early Sunday morning, tents and Gazebo ect all packed up and on sack trucks by 9.30,long bloody walk down to the car parks, very busy as well. Yes its sad to pack up,but i need to be back in work 6am Monday:( . To be honest with the very hot weather by 9pm on Sunday nigt we had all had enough, and longed for the air con in the cars...plus none of us wanted to see Stevie Wonder..Nice easy passage out as well:D

Nah, adding more days on the end would only draw out the comedown. Add more days at the start, opening the campsite days before the festival starts like they do at Roskilde would be cool. They have the campsite open from the Saturday before the festival!

I agree - we hung around until about 2pm Monday afternoon (sobering up mainly) and packing. It was quite sad watching everyone leaving and realizing it was over for another year. As an earlier poster has said, staying open Monday would mean Tuesday would be the 'new' Monday.

I dont get how people can pack up and take their stuff to the car. Then come abck, party for a few horus and go back to the car. Mainly for 2 reasons:
1- I nearly died taking my stuff back at the end. The thought of doing it twice? Well id rather eat my own face.
2- As soon as I step out of those gates, its over. I couldn't do it until I needed to.
