Hi All,


I've had a bit of a break from Glastonbury and never went this year or last.... It seems they now sell tickets for the event in October the year before!!! When I first went down it was a job of just bribing the security staff, or hopping the fence.

I just wondered how people rated this system in terms of it improving there chances of getting a ticket to previous years? How long did it take you to get your tickets booked if you tried in the intial sale in November?
Also do they try and sell all of the tickets in October or just some of em?

If you are up in time and on the site when they are scheduled to sell, I honestly think you are 95 percent garunteed a ticked

October is when you can pay the £50 deposit which (as long as you pay the rest of the balance by (usually) end of Feb) guarantees you a ticket.  This year there was a resale in May (after the deadline to cancel any paid for tickets) and I think there may have been sales in dribs and drabs.

I didn't have any problems last October but I know eventually the availability of deposits sold out.  Just get up early on the day and keep trying!

Yeah make sure you have the entire day free, as they sold out quite late in the evening though if I remember it got hardrder and harder to log on as they day went on

So would you say that getting tickets for 2010 in October last year, was easier than previous years?

I would say it was  easier they went onsale at 9.00am on a Sunday , I logged on and bought the tickets at 8.55am. As long as you make sure to register should be no probs getting your tickets.

Sorry but this is not strictly true. we went to my husbands office computer to buy our tickets as it seems easier to get on to the site from there. My daughter and some friends spent all that day from 9.00am trying to get tickets and they never even got onto the booking page . Eventually at 11.30am they were sold out . They had to get their tickets when a friend on this board  emailed me with the resale.
It was easiest to buy tickets in the early 90s before the Oasis years and before the BBC coverage. You just sent a cheque to Worthy Farm!
Dont get me wrong though I dont have a problem with the way it is now I just wish those of us on the boards were given priority booking because we  love the festival so much we talk about it all year!

Thats not true. If you where buying in October last year for tickets this year... I.e not the resale. Tickets where on sale all day and never 'sold out' until that evening.

Got my 2010 tickets at about 3:30pm. Almost gave up. So very, very, glad I didn't.

April resale I think they were gone in about an hour. That ones a bit blurry for me though as I was on the other side of the pond, and it was 4am. I didn't get through, but my friend in the UK managed to get coach tickets.

May resale... 15 mins, maybe 30 max.

I think if you have a good connection and are persistent, and if you start hitting the site just before 9am you have a very good chance of getting through quickly and getting your tickets.

This year I'm supposed to be in the Orkney's on Oct 3rd. I'm already stressing about how I'm going to work this. I just don't trust anyone else.

I think it was more difficult last year than it has been for a couple of years. It's been easier since registration, and generally easier still since the October deposit day.

Generally speaking, if you are up and around the site about an hour before tix go on sale, and also have this page open for any direct links people find, you will get through.

I hate to say that it's that simple though, because when i missed out in 2005, nothing made me cry more tears of rage and frustration than people saying "if you were organised/wanted one enough you would have got one". It made me think very violent thoughts!

I think this could be a tough year because:
It was sunny this year
U2 fans think they'll be on
It'll be a fallow year the year after

It's important to never be complacent:
Make sure you have a successful registration well before the day (don't be trying this in the last few days - if you have problems you're stuffed!)
Make sure those registrations are sitting by your computer ready for the morning and you haven't lost them.
Get up in plenty of time and put some drinks and snacks by your computer to sustain you.
Get onto the site early, bookmark all visible pathways into seetickets before it gets busy.
Get a second page open with this site as people will post links as they find them.
Keep clicking on the various links until you get something - be patient & don't panic - but don't join anything calling itself a "queue" these are a trap!

Ticket site crashed as usual in 2008 when they went on sale but in the end it didn't sell out until the festival actually started and tickets were avaliable all Spring.

I've always found it easy to get a ticket.

Its going to be a nightmare come this October ticket day what with everyone having seen how great the festival can be with the sun.
