My whole group on departure commented on the cleanliness of the loos. of course there are tactics but it was so much better than I remember in the past.
DON'T LOOK DOWN!

After a terrifying experience with the portaloos in the car parks on the monday going home, I won't be using them ever

The Loo's were luxury compared to previous years. Never pleasant in
the heat, but I found no Poo Pyramids. Happy Days!

I used a couple of portaloos and I reckon because everyone avoids them they're actually ok! The worst I saw actually were in our friends campsite (the crew bit by Dairy Ground) they didn't get emptied til Friday!

I didn't go in a single unpleasant loo this year, proper chuffed. The only times I turned away from a loo to use a different one was when I was up in Wicket Ground - there were only about 12 portaloos for god knows how many people, and from 6am til midday there was a huge queue extending half way across the camp site. They were only disgusting after that because they were in dire need of emptying, spotlessly clean otherwise!
That said, they were emptied about 3 times a day otherwise, cleaned constantly and I made a point of thanking all the loo cleaners I passed for doing such a good job.

This was the first time I'd been since 2003 and this year went with a Glasto virgin. Had warned her about the loos before we went, and told her not to use the portaloos and go for the long drops every time. I was so surprised by how clean they were and actually seeing the WaterAid volunteers cleaning them was not something I'd expected! I even managed to sit down on a couple of occasions.
My usual mantra of 'don't look down' failed as my curiosity took over - wasn't half as bad as i'd expected!
I've sent wateraid a message on twitter thanking their people for their attention to the loos - something I couldn't have done.

there was a few "not using that" moments but much less than previous years. now if we can get another block or two in the late night areas, and another between the glade and leftfeild, that make it as near perfect as it is humanly possible to get.

Apart from times when I've been working and had access to the posh bogs, this was the first festival I've ever been to where the toilets were a pleasant surprise. I'd even go so far as to say they were less of a disappointment than Gorillaz

Every portaloo I visited was spotless and lovely as you could reasonably expect.
Those tall long drops with the roofs were the worst though, too much stink and very badly designed, cubicles are not big enough to manuver and seat way too high up. Where I was camped by the park that's all there was so I just peed in paper pint cups mostly.

Loos were mostly brilliant, and waaaay better than I was expecting after reading all the horror stories! Long drops were excellent, didn't really smell, and were really pleasant to use as long as you don't look down! I avoided using the turdii for most of the weekend because of all the reports of disgustingness I'd read before, but got caught short just before Stevie, t'was amazing, I opened the door to a choir of heavenly angels and a perfectly clean and smell free bog - was that unusual?

Agreed - the Wrong-Drops. Horrible toilets.
