With the bands starting an hour earlier (I think but could be wrong) it meant that the penultimate slot (The Sunset Slot) finished while it was still light and that the sun went down while the headliners were on.
I would have loved to see Faithless finish their set in near darkness, is this a regular thing now or just a 1 off?
I kinda loved the magic of the sun going down with the slot before the headliner.

Yeah. I kept saying long before the festival that Faithless in the sunset spot on Sunday night on the Pyramid stage is a perfect slot. Then thought it was me that got the timings wrong when the sun was still well up.
Obviously the very late sets last year had an effect on timings this year.

I thought Faithless were ace but the sunset definitely added to their 2002 slot - I kept waiting for the ball of fire to disappear but it bloody well didn't! Hopefully they'll fix that a bit for next year.

The earlier finish times are part of the new licence, it's why the outdoor stages were louder (which I thought was noticeable)

Less darkness = bad.

Louder sound systems = good.

Was up on the hill for the Thom/Johnny one, thanks for reminding me, great sunset & they played the lesser-aired Pyramid Song  :D

Aah, I get it now. I didn't realise the end shows were earlier but it does go to explaining why sunset slots were missing. I did watch a STUNNING sunset whilst losing it completely to Hybrid in the Glade though. It did seem awfully light for Faithless and the sun went down just after LCD finished. Oh well.
