Can't really see the problem to collect your rubbish, mainly probably drink related, and then carry it to a bin when you leave. 10 cups or 100, there are plenty of bins around.
I went as far as taking our camping rubbish home with me, but then I was in a van and therefore it was no problem.
If you're staying for multiple sets, and drinking a lot, then, especially if you don't have large pockets, and no bag, then it gets very difficult to keep all the cups.

At first I thought you were suggesting that there should be bins in the crowd at the front (just not possible), but if you mean between the barrier and the stage, then this would appear to be an oversight.  However the bins have to be close to tracks so that they can be picked up by the trucks.
Yeah, I know it wouldn't be possible having them actually in the crowd (although maybe a bit further back, some would be good), but yeah, behind the barrier would be great, because it would mean it would be easy to leave no trace while staying hydrated.

They should definitely do the cup recycling thing like at Download... In the past that's helped me eat when I've run out of cash!!!
