How about doing the decent thing and selling them on at face value? Instead of being a touting bastard?

They are going for £200 each, that is face value?? Thats what i paid for them on see tickets. And even if people want to pay a few extra pound for them then thats there choice, the people bidding on them aint moaning so why have u got a problem?? I've just paid nearly double the price for some festival tickets but i'm not moaning cuz at least I get the opportunity to go now.

Touting is when you buy tickets and never intend to go and then sell them at extortionate prices!  If you can no longer attend, and you just sell them on a website auction with no reserve, that's hardly in the same category now is it!  Silly boy.

Listed them at 99p.....and then made sure you got your mate to bid on them and knock them up to £200

Pretty sure face value including booking and postage etc comes to about £175 so I don't know how you managed to pay £200 to see tickets!?!?!

wow dude you are proper special aintcha!! Do you not know that ebay charge a few for listing them! So do your maths properly now that's a good little boy instead of coming on here and ranting at some random stranger just because they dare to list there tickets on ebay! So spell out all clever like and get a piece of paper and calculator if your mental arithmetic is not your strongest point. Dont forget now you have ebay fees, paypal fees postage so add them all up now! If its easier for your tiny little brain lets assume it costs about 15%. that 35quid minimum the charges could be more!! so add that on to the 175 quid you quoted above. That works out to be 215quid. So tell me how that is not selling the tickets at face value! You cannot expect anyone to not cover there costs if they are not able to go! Now go away with your tail between your legs little man and try harder next time!!

I hate to have to tell you this, but actually the value of the ticket before all the fees is £175.  (Well it was £174 and some pennies) Then you add £10 for the service charge.  Then you add £5 for the p&p.  Now just in case any of you don't have the use of a whole brain, I'll add that up for you shall I?  It's £190!

You lot should really try and get a better hobby than picking on young girls.  It really is extremely pathetic.  As if any of you would sell a V Festival Ticket with Camping on ebay on "Buy it Now!" for £175.  And if you say you would, you are either very very generous, rich, stupid or a liar.

I certainly wouldn't sell a v festival ticket with camping on ebay on "buy it now" for £175.  Because you'd lose money on it.  First of all, you haven't made back the service charge and p&p.  Secondly, you then have to pay 10% to ebay and then 3.5% to paypal for their services.  £200 even £225 would still mean you actually dont make a profit (and therefore by definition are not a tout)

Now, do you think perhaps you can try not to pick on people when they are doing absoloutley NOTHING wrong?  There's nice children.

Ok.

Mistake number one: 15% of £175 is not £35
Mistake number two: £175 + £35 does not equal £215

Oh dear oh dear.

Also, here's a nifty little trick to avoid eBay fees, don't tout out your tickets on eBay. The face value for weekend camping tickets after see tickets service charge and postage is about £175, even less if you bought them at the early bird prices of £152.50.

If you've got a mate on here, why not just give them to them at £175. Otherwise there would be plenty of people on these boards that would happily pay you however much you paid for them without getting eBay involved.

eBay is only for people who want to make money. Fact.

Definition of "TOUT": someone who buys tickets to an event in order to resell them at a profit

I will bet you any money that Tink didn't make a penny on those tickets.  Shall I show you how?  Seeing as you don't seem to have two braincells to rub together you nasty little man?  We'll work this in round figures, just so you dont hurt your little head shall we?

1.  Ticket at face value was £175 (give or take a penny or two)
2.  Service charge for said ticket was £10
3.  P&P is £5
4.  The total of 1-3 is £190
5.  Ebay charge you 10% of the total amount.  Now lets say Tink sold the ticket for £200.  That's £20 to Ebay.
6.  If you take £20 from £200 you now have a balance of £180 and a loss of £10
7.  Then you have to pay 3.5% to paypal for their service.  That's £6.30 ;)
8.  And if you take £6.30 from £180, you have £173.70 and a total loss of £16.30
9.  You then have to pay P&P to send the ticket to the buyer.  As Tink specified a free P&P she would have to pay £5 to send this to the buyer.
10. If you take £5 from £173.70, you get to £168.70.  And a total loss of £21.30

And that, dear child, is without even bearing in mind any listing fee that Tink may have had to pay.

You have absolutely no right to go around and accuse people of acting immorally when you do not know them or their intentions.  People on here know Tink, she has been at the Efest camp at V festival for at least 3 years that I know of, and I can assure you that she is a good person.  To say that she is a TOUT, which you can only be saying as an insult, is not only disrespectful and rude, but its inaccurate.

She can't go to V Festival.  She had to sell her tickets.  I can also tell you that she told people on Facebook she was selling them before they went on Ebay and no one said then that they wanted them!  So what, just because the fact she has sold them on Ebay offends you, get over it sweetheart.  People do it for far worse reasons, and the "TOUTS" as you put it, generally use other sites where there are no hidden fees.  So perhaps you should do some homework before you go around picking on young girls.  I hope it makes you feel like a big man!  Idiot.

Ok so let's use some correct maths instead.

Face value of wkend + camping ticket = £165
See ticket fee = £9.75
See ticket postage = £4.80 (split between 4 tickets = £1.20 per ticket)

Total face value for 4 tickets = £703.80
Total face value for 1 ticket = £175.95

So.... Here is my homework

Ticket sold on eBay for  = £225
eBay fee at 10% = £22.50
paypal fee at 3.5% = £7.88

1st class recorded delivery for a letter = £1.15

Total after deductions = £193.47
Total profit per ticket = £17.52
Total profit for 3 sold tickets = £52.56

Considering you claim to have done nothing wrong, there is a whole load of defensiveness going on!

And as for the picking on a small girl/big man comments. It's pathetic, you're setting the feminist movement back about twenty years. The fact that you are a small child/girl/boy/oap/cat/dog/hamster whatever doesn't matter.

It's the principle of putting your tickets on eBay to make a profit.

You are such an idiot.  Can you actually hear yourself?

Do I care about feminism?  Do I heck as like.  I care about people being treated properly, and you sir, are a bully!

Yes, a bully.

I know for a fact that Tink hasn't made any money at all on those tickets.  Not many people do.  Only the professionals.  You seem to think you know everything about this situation and want to tar her with the same brush as those people who buy up the tickets and then sell them on when they had no intention of going to the gig/festival whatever in the first place.

It is the sellers principles that count and not that of a multinational corporation.

I maintain that Tink has done nothing wrong.  I am defensive, because I know that she doesn't deserve the kind of insults that you lot were offloading on her.

I haven't made a profit on the tickets. Its worked out i've sold them for about £140 a ticket! Ebay charged me £80 to list them, paypal £7.50 a ticket, £15 in total to post them not £1 or whatever u said. Im not sending them normal post for someone to steal them/get lost i'm sending them special next day delivery!

People are defended me because they know me, i've been to v festival with the efest group for years now. They know I'm a good person and they are my FRIENDS! Wouldnt you stick up for your friends if somebody was calling them a bastard? Actually from the impression i've got from you so far I doubt you have any.

Mate are you seriously going to send over £400 worth of tickets in a standard envelope - you wouldn't put a fiver in a bloody envelope let alone that much uninsured and just on the wing and a prayer setup! More to the point you are hoping they get there in time as sometimes tickets don't arrive until 2 wks before V and would then need posting on.

Just agree to differ, accept she was planning on going and can't and let someone buy them if they want. I've met her and she's sound.
I am all for anti-touting but lets not fall out with everyone when we don't know the facts!
