I'm getting a bit old these days, and need a monorail ticket for later on in the evenings to get back to my tent. Where do I get these again?
(yeah, yeah, I know...I just haven't seen the monorail getting enough of a mention this year)

You'll be able to get a weekend pass on the gate probably. They don't mention it, so you'll have to ask a steward or someone as your coming in if you can get one .

Woppa, try the info points but make sure you get a 5 day pass as it's really expensive if you buy one day at a time...

There's a monorail ticket stall next to Gate A, make sure you get in the right queue, otherwise you'll enter the festival itself and have to go back out and queue again.

Is it worth bumping this thread for the sake of newbies who may not be aware of the facilities?

Good call Grumpy... I remember seeing the original press announcement for this, although I'm almost certain there weren't 9 stations last year - is this something that ME is going to add to this year you think?

How can I upgrade to first class with express check-in?
Also, what time are the tents cleaned in the morning?

Jeez, just because there's transport laid on doesn't mean you're gonna get a chambermaid to make your bed. Some people just want it all

on a side note...
I've got a dead horse in my backyard, everyone in the street has flogged it way past there being any point, but still some people insist on trying, just one more time

This was a god send last year with all the hot weather and that!
In regards to where you get tickets, I purchased mines from the Nelson Mandela bar. However you need to find the bar supervisor as the staff are not allowed to sell these tickets! x

But if you ask for a ticket the staff have been trained to deny all knowledge of any monorail! That is unless you know the magic password/phrase to use! Can anyone remind me what that is please?

I heard in line with other public transportation costs this year, the monorail tickets on average will cost about 7.84521% this year.

I raised this subject again because I'm concerned at the ticketing arrangments for 2011.
Last year you couldn't book Car Park tickets or CamperVan Field tickets until at least one in a group had paid for their ticket in full. But as soon as one person paid in full you could book them then.
This year we won't be able to get car park and cv field tickets until the April balance payment date, which is cutting it fine if you want to hire a motorhome. It means you either have to hire the motorhome before you are sure of having a CV field ticket or leave it until you are sure of having a CV field ticket, at which point they may be hard to hire.
I know that may seem unconnected but those of us considering booking a week long Monorail ticket are in the same position. Do I book the Enhanced Monorail option for the line that extends to the CV fields when I'm not sure if I'll be staying there?

You can buy a lifetime pass, it's like a golden ticket - I bought one a few years back, saves the hassle each year. Cost me 10 grand though.
