Right, so i have just been informed that our group are planning on leaving Yeovil at around 8am. Allowing 2 hours (if very heavy traffic) to get to the drop off point, 2 hours queueing for a bus and a 2 hour bus journey, the absolute latest i see us arriving on site will be 2pm. Obviously this is worst case scenario, but is this realsitic (anyone had similar timings?). Will we be able to get a reasonable spot on Pennards/Park Home/Dairy Ground? Hopefull still get in in time for the footie

what day?
last year we set off from the manchester area at about 1pm on the wednesday. we were 8 miles away by about half 6, and finally got on site at 2am on thursday due to an epic traffic jam that was 8 miles long and took 8 hours to crawl through.
If you think of the worse case, you can only be right or be happy at being early!

It's so hard to say, gates never opened to early before, car park has never been all night... penards is getting more popular year on year.
Last year it was really full by 2, but still had spaces, but could be better or worse, as there is more camping other places now.
I am heading there too, hoping to be nice and early - better be staying in the car tue night!

Are you THE Carol Decker of T'Pau and dodgy spine fame? If it is you, cheers for "China In Your Hand". I enjoyed it. Hope your back's better.
If it isn't you, hello. Hope you're ok and all that.

I haven't been for a few years, but last time I went Pennards was classified 'full' by the early evening on Wednesday. I think you'll be fine, but then I also think that a lot is made about certain camping areas and that it's not really justified. You'll experience the glasto spirit wherever you camp, and if you're stressing about things like where exactly to camp, as soon as you get through the gate you'll soon forget about it!

Well i have red hair and i do sometimes feel like putting some china in my hands, i think its an identity crisis.

Well I can't say I'm not disappointed, but it's always nice to make a friend. Happy Glastonbury. If we should run into each other I will be gracious enough to let you buy me a pint.
And my back is holding in there. Just. Ta.
