Hello all.

i might have got myself a solution to the usual  phone charging problems which i thought i'd share with you.

Not wanting to risk losing/breaking my iphone i bought a samsung E2120 pay and go phone from o2 for a whopping £15.  Its cheap and plastic but I picked it because it boasted a good battery life (27 days standby time, 9.5hours talk).  I charged it monday morning, plugged in the sim card and carried it around.  admittedly i've not made any calls on it but so far its still showing full charge 6 days later.

Anybody else found phones with festival-grade battery life?

I've an old Nokia 6810, battery lasts a good 5-6 days on standby with a few calls.  Taking a spare battery as well.  Not sure what the signal is like there, but a weak signal increases battery consumption.

My tocco lite lasts for well over 7 days left on day and night so I should be ok.

its supposed to be unbreakable, but i seen a live report on the news, and the news reporter was with the creator and the creator challenged him to break it, which he did rather quickly, it was quite funny.

I have a Sony-Ericsson handset which I got 2 spare batteries for on E-bay.

Shouldn't have many problems lasting the 5 days with that. Anyone that goes to wait in the big stupid Orange queue for 4 hours wants their head looking at. Just some simple planning and you will be good to go.

Also anyone who takes an iphone wants their head looking at given that those batteries barely last a day.

Not if you're sensible - turning down the screen brightness, switching off 3G/wireless and switching the phone off when you don't need it saves a lot of battery power. A portable or solar powered charger will then easily see you through the festival.

I'm just taking my LG KS360. Bought a spare battery online for £3 which actually seems to be more reliable than the battery I already have. I'm trying to see how long it'll last before dying from being fully charged...

My iphone is staying at home and my trusty Sony Ericsson W880i will be accompanying me. The battery can usually get me to Sunday and I have a spare one and car charger too - more than enough!
