Football is never important.

I thought it was hilarious. I think it is even more hilarious how everyone just assumed England were going to stroll through to the knockout stage. It was like watching a struggling premiership side, completely impotent. I can honestly not remember one phase of the Algeria game were England looked like they deserved a shot on target.
England are shit, always have been and probably always will be. Get used to it and stop flying those pathetic flags every two years.

Oh no...
With a cast of millionaires
In a place of beauty
England's finest will win a place in the second round
Witness this spectacle at 3pm on Wednesday at the Pyramid Field
It's gonna be jaw dropping!
It's going to be f**king hilarious is what it's going to be.

I couldn't care about football, rugby is my game. I know when the Lions games have been on in previous years the result has no effect on the atmosphere, but I've never been to the festival when the football has been on. I'm guessing with football it could be slightly different with more folk taking an interest in it.
I was there in 2004 when portugal knocked us out of the Euros and it dampened it for about 10 minutes then everyone just got on with having an immense time again, so i wouldnt worry too much!

If we lost or drew it'd be a terrible start to Glasto!!! We'd have to party that much harder to make up for it.
Imagine if we went out before The Lightning Seeds got a chance to do Three Lions!

I think Capello realised that if we won the group, we'd be playing Germany at 7.30 on the Saturday. Instead, we either get to play Ghana mid afternoon, or do not have the festival interrupted at all. In that knowledge he masterminded a goalless draw againstScotlandAlgeria, to throw our real competitors off the scent.

I was gutted last night however am oddly pleased that it means so much more for Wednesday's game. Love a wee bit of tension

If we're second in the group we'll be playing during Slash. Sweet Child of Mine wins hands down against watching a display like that again. Truely painful game

I honestly doubt we will win.
We cant even qualify with a draw cos if Algeria win, they go through above us and if they draw with the USA then us and the USA will have the same goal difference, and they will have scored more goals than us so unless we draw like 6 all with Slovenia.....
I thought we were pathetic last night. Not ONE player shone and not ONE seemed to even care especially Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard.
Capello needs to choose this team for Slovenia:
ROONEY
GERRARD (Attacking mid, just off Rooney)
JOE COLE LENNON (wingers)
LAMPARD BARRY
ASHLEY COLE TERRY UPSON JOHNSON
when are people gonna realise that Joe Cole is good and that Lampard and Rooney cannot play in the same position together? I would even drop Lampard and play Crouch up front with Gerrard in the centre but Lampard plays well for England when he needs to usually.

Quick question - with no amplified music until Thursday, does this mean there wont be any commentary?

Why the hell is Heskey playing BTW??
Defoe and Crouch are so much better!
England need to start playing as a f**king team and they need to communicate more, they looked so quiet out there

As mad as it sounds if England beat Slovenia then they could easily top the group as they just need to beat them by more than America beat Algeria. So it oould be sat night afterall

I'm Scottish and will be cheering England on, just as I'd hope an English person would cheer us on.
It's not Scotland vs. England, there's no need for the 'anyone but' attitude.

I don't know what it will do to the whole 'we are at Glsto vibe' I am not a soccer fan, and all I can say is OVERPAID BUNCH OF T**TS, but OH is into it and I remember the vibe at Glasto during the WC last time at G, they played portugal (I think) and there was some sort of crap goal that caused much controversy, but it definately did contribute to the atmosphere in a neg way.... but TBH only for a few hours, but I feel this match means a lot... so I am with StevieMcK on this thought!!
BTW to all you girls who are not into footie, I have come to an arrangement with Hub, that if I ACT like I am interested and don't put a dampner on the feel for him he gets me a gift..... an extra good one if I supply beer and snacks.... needless to say I bought flags, horns and hats shouting ENG-ER-LAND on the opening match!!! Super gift me thinks....

I wasn't too fussed about the game as I thought England would be through before it, but now I'm definately going to watch it. Should be very interesting.
