Why, 5 days before the festival begins can so many people "not make it" and want to sell their tickets...? A bout of plague?..or something more sinister?

I can't be bothered with the hassle of selling it, tried and got messaed around so the ticket and car park pass will just stay at home.

A couple we were going with now can't go, but they aren't going to do anything with their tickets either. I can't think of much that would prevent me from going

It's possible that my girlfriend wont be able to go to her first ever Glasto because she has a long awaited job interview for her ideal job. She's based in Germany and we're waiting to here what date it is, it's looking very likely it's on friday afternoon, meaning the earliest she could arrive is very very late Saturday night and it'll cost over £400 in extra flight costs.. we'll see.

My mate pulled out cos he screwed his back up. Seems to me that it's always in the last week because people hold out to see if they can get themselves out of whatever it is that's stopping them going to Glastonbury.

My bro is just recovering from the flu, thought he might not make it 9he decided it was malaria) but he's on mend now, but i guess it's that sort of thing, these things always happen when you don't want them to!
Me, I just come out in cold sores before every bloody holiday... I don't get stressed, but something inside my body obviously is...

My mother used to get the same thing (cold sores before every holiday). I thought it was because she was blowing sailors.

There's always call offs for big events. With 170,000 or so people with tickets there will no doubt be call offs for various reasons.
People have kids, illness, families, jobs, bills, house fires, car crashes, redundancies... as well as the chance of all that happening to mates they are planning on attending with.
It's why you generally don't have to buy tickets to big stadium gigs a year in advance.
I guess it's just a shame for these people that the ticket registration system makes it awkward to sell tickets in these circumstances.
I know there aint much chance I'd want to pay much over £50 for a ticket that didn't have my picture on it.

I had bought my ticket to go with my girlfriend, bur now having split up it's not really an option. Not knowing anyone else who's going in my group of friends and not being one to go on my own i'm left with a spare ticket and camper van ticket. Unfortunatly with the whole photo thing, it looks like i'll just have to oswallow the £280 odd loss. Hey ho.

It's not really that many. People seem to forget there's a whole new world outside of Efests.
