Might have been even more visible if U2 were still playing. They did a live sattelite link to the ISS during at least one of the shows on the tour (Bareclona I seem to remember). Might have been a "Glastonbury Momement"...

Quite excited about this! Definately going to take a note of the times so I know when to look.
One question, which way is north at the festival? Im not planning on taking a compass and I think the way the maps are printed might be slightly deceptive.

It'll rise from a westward direction, or the same direction the sun will set...

Also if you check where the sun is around midday, then that'll be roughly south...

I'm looking forward to finding a random at the stone circle and prophesying a light in the sky, or maybe tell them the tale of the Glastonbury comet, which only returns every 40 years :P

Cool. Saw it once before from the US. It is blink and you'll miss it. Need to know exactly where to look.

I was under the impression that the shuttle has just made it's last flight?
I think it was the last flight for that particular shuttle

I wouldn't say it was blink and miss it.
It can take as long as 4 minutes to cross the sky, you just need to know where to look

Hehey...I witnessed the ISS every day at G up to 3 times (if I remembered to look at the sky at the right time).

I was able to point it out to the folks at the (first?) Efests meet at the Cider Bus, that pass was a low 40' and most certainly not an infernal Sky Lantern.

As I had written down the pass times, I was able to tell people when to be checking and looking and on a number of other occasions I was with a group (such as at CT) when the space station did one of its epic 5 minute 80' zenith full west to east passes and made sure people were looking and standing there being amazed by the viewing.

It was absolutely stunning and so bloody bright, even saw it twisting and slightly curving high above us. Not bad for a piece of machinery flying past us at something like 78,000mph or whatever it is.

And AS for that Full Moon on Saturday! I watched it rise above the trees over the Stone Circle while I was waiting for the Pet Shop Boys to begin. (I did in fact just miss the beginning of the set because I was intent in seeing it fully above the trees in all its extra large loveliness :D)
